Next came the showdown between the national team and Hawthorne High.

The match was tense and intense from start to finish. Seven was so hyped that he crushed ten crabs in a row.

It was his fault. He’d been so focused on the game that he forgot about the kid.

“Hey! Kid, wake up!”

He grabbed Sterling’s arm and shook it gently.

But the arm just flopped back.

“Kid, what’s up with you?”

Sterling looked drunk.

Could crabs get him drunk?

Seven glanced at the table.

There were still about ten crabs left, but all the chocolates were gone. Wrappers were scattered everywhere—on the floor, on the table, all over.

He picked up one of the plastic wrappers Sterling had tossed aside.

Seven looked at the slightly drunk Sterling and knew he couldn’t let Cassia find out.

“He… he went to the bathroom.”

“He’s okay, right?”
