It counted as returning a kindness.

Draven looked down at the piece of chicken on his plate. A faint spark lit up in his eyes.

This was the first time Cassia had ever served him food.

For a second, he had the urge to seal that piece of chicken in a box and keep it forever.

But in Cassia’s eyes, Draven looked a bit like a statue–handsome, tall, and completely frozen.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Cassia asked, puzzled. “Don’t you like that part?”

She had noticed earlier that he had been staring at the chicken as if it might suddenly bloom.

“Here,” Seven said cheerfully. “To celebrate you taking the first step and asking me out yesterday, I’ll peel another one for you!” He picked the biggest, meatiest crab from the plate, peeled it clean, and placed it onto Sterling’s plate.

Then he raised his wine glass again and clinked it against the crab Sterling was holding.

“Cheers!”

Sterling glanced at him, then went right back to eating.

Watching Sterling eat without a care for his manner, Seven smiled in relief.

Just then, Cassia’s phone rang.

Who would be calling her at this hour?

She set down her wine glass and glanced at the screen.

“So annoying,” Cassia muttered.

She ended the call, then turned the phone off completely.

“Was it that two–faced girl again?”

Cassia tossed the powered–off phone aside.

“Probably still coveting that hundred million.”

“Ugh!” Seven felt sick just thinking about that family.

Coveting someone else’s money? Disgusting.

“No shame at all,” he complained, then suddenly remembered Cassia shared the same family name and waved his hands quickly.

“Ms. Wood, not you! You’re the rare one! You’re nothing like them.”

Cassia didn’t mind his words at all. She thought he was right.

After all, she planned to separate her legal residence from that family sooner or later.

She tilted her head back and drained the wine in her glass.
