Chapter 378 Ten Minutes
“Haha.”
Hearing Cassia’s cold laugh on the line, Brie’s face flushed red.
“Hmm, Cassia, when do you have time? Are you free now? Can we meet somewhere?” Brie asked.
“Lennox Hotel,” Cassia said flatly, then hung up.
Brie rushed to the teachers‘ office and asked Selena for leave.
She weighed it carefully in her mind. Compared to studying, 100 million dollars mattered more.
If she really got that money, she wouldn’t have to worry about college anymore.

Selena heard that Brie’s father was sick and in the hospital. She saw how worried and pitiful Brie looked, and Selena approved a half–day leave.
Not long after, Cassia and Brie met at the hotel.
This was Brie’s first time entering a private room in a hotel. Even Kaleb had never been allowed in one before.
What surprised her even more was how polite the hotel owner was to Cassia.
Previously, security had harshly stopped Cassia and Danica when they attempted to enter. They caused quite a scene, and the owner never even showed up.
But now, following behind Cassia, not only was she allowed in, but the hotel owner was actually standing at the entrance to welcome them.
“Cassia, you seem really close with the owner here,” Brie asked carefully.
She had been paying attention. The way Nicole treated Cassia felt like how an old friend would, but there was a hint of respect too.
Brie had heard her father mention that Cassia once saved the hotel owner’s life.
Cassia really was lucky. If she had been the one to save someone like that, Nicole would probably treat her like an honored guest
too.
“What does that have to do with you?” Cassia replied.
She sipped her coffee, leaned back in her chair, and crossed her legs, feeling calm, confident, and completely in control.
Brie knew she could never sit like that. She felt it wasn’t very proper for a girl. But when Cassia did it…
She couldn’t tell if it was Cassia’s looks or her presence, but the pose didn’t feel wrong at all.
It actually looked cool.
“Why aren’t they here yet?” Cassia asked. By “they,” she meant Vance and Victoria.
For something as important as this, they should have been present.

Chapter 378 Ten Minutes
“They should be here soon. Let’s wait a bit longer,” Brie said, doing her best to act calm.
Inside, she was panicking. Why hadn’t they arrived yet?
Cassia kept watching Brie. The more she looked, the more something felt off.
“What kind of trick are you trying to pull?” Cassia asked.
She straightened up and narrowed her eyes.
Brie broke out in goosebumps under that sharp stare.
“T–trick? What trick? You’re overthinking it,” Brie said, hugging her cup and avoiding eye contact.
Cassia narrowed her eyes, studied her for a few seconds, then looked away..
“Ten minutes,” she said. “If they’re not here by then, I’m leaving.”
Ten minutes? That’s too short.
Brie felt like she was sitting on hot coals.
Dad, Mom, please hurry up!
“Oh and one more thing,” Cassia added casually. “We split the bill. Pay for your own coffee.”
Cassia wasn’t short on money, but she wasn’t going to spend a single extra dollar on someone who didn’t matter.
Brie had no words.
It was just one cup of coffee, as if she couldn’t afford it.
And besides, with all that money Cassia had, did she really care about the price of a drink?
So stingy!
Cassia sipped her tea while waiting for the others to arrive.
She finished an entire pot. Ten minutes passed. They still hadn’t shown up.
Cassia set the cup down and looked straight at Brie, her face calm and unreadable.
“They’re not here.”
Brie was panicking inside.
What was going on? Why hadn’t Dad and Mom come yet? She had already taken time off just to trick Cassia into coming out.
