Every time Vance listened to Brie comforting words and then thought of Cassia, he couldn’t help but wish Brie were his real daughter instead.
At a large amusement park in Zrario.
Seven held Sterling’s hand as they stepped off the Ferris wheel.
“Well? Kid? Was it fun?” Seven asked, turning his head_He noticed Sterling looking down at his phone, tapping on the screen. It looked like he was sending photos to someone.
The pictures were taken just now on the Ferris wheel.
Back then, Seven had said, “The view is great up here. Let’s take a photo to remember it.”
At first, the kid didn’t want to. After Seven kept asking and joking around, Sterling finally gave in.and awkwardly raised two fingers in a peace sign.
He acted shy and unwilling at first, but now he was clearly enjoying it.
When they first entered the park, Seven had been nervous. It was Sterling’s first time at such a crowded place without Cassia. Seven worried something might go wrong, so he kept a close eye on him the whole time.
Later, Sterling went on several rides with him. He did just fine every time. Only then did Seven finally relax.
Soon, the two of them loosened up and started playing freely. They were having a great time.
“Want some water?” Seven asked, seeing that Sterling was sweating a lot. It was probably his first time playing this hard.
Sterling glanced at the vending machine inside a nearby stand and nodded.
“Yeah.”
“Alright. Wait here. I will go buy it for you,” Seven said as he walked toward the stand.
Sterling obediently sat down on a bench and waited quietly.
When Seven came back with two bottles of drinks, he saw three people standing around Sterling. Sterling’s face was filled with fear and panic.
Seven frowned and hurried over.
“Hey, what do you think you’re doing?”
The trio turned around.
Seven recognized them at once–Gary, Fiona, and Ethan.

Fiona recognized Seven immediately. He was the guy from the Grey Group’s banquet, the one who had pulled Sterling out of her hands.
It was him. And of course, he’s with Cassia.
That thought had been stuck in Fiona’s mind ever since that banquet.
Her father had handed Sterling over to Cassia. And now she saw this man bringing Sterling out alone. That only proved her suspicion.
How could a stranger she didn’t even know take her son away? And why would Cassia let this man look after Sterling?
It must have been Cassia’s order back then.
Fiona pointed at Sterling and looked at Seven. “How could you bring Sterling to an amusement park?” she said sharply. “Don’t you know his autism is very serious? Bringing him here is hurting him!”
Her voice was loud. People nearby turned to look. Some started whispering to each other.
“That little boy has autism?”
“If she hadn’t said it, I wouldn’t have noticed.”
“Isn’t she exaggerating? If it were really that serious, would he even be out here?”
“Maybe he has it a little? He does seem a bit different.”
“Different how? He looks normal to me and super cute! The guy next to him must be his twin, right?”
“Same.”
Fiona heard every word.
She looked at Sterling’s face.
Because he stayed indoors most of the time, Sterling’s skin was much paler than many girls. Fiona was no longer young, but her youthful skin was famous among socialites. People often praised her for having youthful skin.
Ethan was not as fair as Fiona, but Sterling was several shades paler than her carefully maintained face.
That made Fiona angry.
