He was watching with total focus. He was even more focused than he had been while studying chess a while back.
Seven couldn’t help complaining in his head. Is this really the face of the Grim Reaper? Forget his nickname as the Grim Reaper. He should be called Mr. Lock–On.
As he thought about that, Seven noticed something else. More and more little girls were gathering around Sterling.
“Mr. Grey, stop staring at Ms. Wood for a second,” Seven said. “Look at those girls. They’re about to eat the kid alive. Is that how elementary school kids are supposed to act? Especially that one with the tiny braids. That smile is far too obvious. Even if the kid is good–looking, she shouldn’t be that bold.”
As he spoke, Seven puffed out his cheeks in annoyance.
“And Ms. Wood too,” he muttered. “She had to bring the kid to school. I could’ve watched him myself.”
At that moment, Draven turned his head and looked at him.
“Are you his dad?” Draven asked.
Seven couldn’t argue with that.
After a few seconds of silence, Seven lowered his voice. “I could be his brother.”
Cassia walked out of the elementary school campus. When she reached the black sedan, she realized Draven and Seven were not inside.
She turned her head and saw the two of them walking out from a crowd of kids.
Cassia tilted her head as they came toward her. A question popped into her mind. Why would two grown men go into an elementary school?
Draven glanced at Seven, then opened the back door of the car.
Cassia found it a little strange, but it didn’t seem like her business, so she didn’t ask.
The car started moving. Cassia looked at Seven and said, “Take me to the orphanage.”
Before Seven could answer, Draven spoke first. “Okay.”
Wood Manor.
This time, Vance had truly hired a psychologist to treat Danica.
Geneva said Danica had been staring at sharp objects more and more often. None of them dared to leave knives, forks, or even pencils out in the open. They were afraid one small mistake could lead to something terrible.
Even more so, when Geneva checked on Danica, she often found her pressed against the window. Other times, Danica would be sleeping on the window ledge.

Once, it was even worse. Danica had started hitting her head against the wall.

If Geneva hadn’t rushed in and stopped her in time, Danica would have at least split her forehead open. She might have ended up in the hospital.
Her condition was getting worse. Vance’s idea of locking her in a small room and waiting for her to recover on her own had clearly failed.
After being scolded by Victoria, Vance had no choice. He finally agreed to spend the money and hire a professional.
But even a trained psychologist was useless. When Danica had been hospitalized before, Vance had already hired several experts. This one was no different. None of them could get close to her.
“What do we do now?”
Just as everyone was at their wits‘ end, the doorbell rang.
“Who is it?” Victoria went to open the door.
“C–Cassia?”
Standing behind her was Peter.
Cassia had returned to the manor after such a long time, and Victoria’s expression turned complicated.
Cassia ignored her reaction and walked straight inside.
“Where’s Vance?” she asked.
“Brat! How rude of you!” Vance snapped. He had been thrilled when he heard Cassia’s name and hurried out. But before he even reached her, the fact that she didn’t call him “Dad” drove him mad again.
“Oh, so you finally came home,” Vance said.
“Where’s my 40,000 dollars?” Cassia asked, holding out her hand.
“Forty thousand dollars? Where did that come from?”
Vance’s heart sank.
He suddenly noticed Peter standing behind Cassia; Vance immediately guessed why she had come back this time.
