“My patience is limited. Don’t make this turn ugly like last time,” Cassia said when she saw that Vance refused to return the money.

“It’s just 40,000 dollars. You already have 100 million–does this really matter to you?” Vance tried to coax her.

Just as Cassia and Vance were locked in a standoff, Geneva suddenly came running over in a panic.

“Geneva, what’s happened?” Victoria felt a splitting headache, and Geneva hurried to support her.

Geneva was frantic, too. Her eyes glistened with tears, sweat covering her forehead.

“I don’t know either! When I came in earlier, Danica was still sitting on the bed. I asked if she wanted some water, and she nodded. So I went to the kitchen and poured her a glass.
