Chapter 427 The IMO
Chapter 427 The IMO
The more she thought about it, the uglier Brie’s expression became.
But she realized she didn’t need to panic too much.

The school had already announced it. In mid–May, she’d be heading to Vrastin. Even if she didn’t win first place in the Olympiad math competition, as long as she placed well and secured a recommendation to Vego University, she could stay in Vrastin for college.
Four years at a top university in Vrastin–wasn’t that enough time to catch the eye of some wealthy heir?
Just as Brie was busy fantasizing, her deskmate suddenly said, “Speaking of Olympiad competitions, that reminds me of Cassia’s International Mathematical Olympiad certificate.”
Brie almost laughed in her heart.
“My dad and grandma went to verify that certificate. Something about it felt… off,” Brie said, immediately drawing attention from several classmates, including Kaleb.
What is she plotting now?
Her deskmate turned toward her, and before she could speak, Brie continued, “My grandma said Cassia is only in her senior year. When would she even have time to participate in the IMO?”
With that, Cassia instantly became the center of discussion again.
Whispers spread across the classroom.
“Wait–she’s in senior year. It’s already intense. When would she have time to compete internationally?”
“So Cassia’s actually that amazing? Staying first in the entire grade while also competing internationally and earning a certificate?”
“Amazing? Please. That’s probably something Brie made up. Everyone knows Cassia transferred here because of Vance’s sponsorship. If that certificate’s real, I’ll eat an English dictionary.”
“That’s quite a dare.”
“I’m not looking down on her, but have you ever seen her pay attention in class?”
Through the glass window, students looked over at the advanced class across the way. Cassia was lying on her desk, playing on her phone.
“You’ve got a point.”
“Right? With that kind of study attitude, if she could pass that level of international competition, calling her a ‘genius‘ would be an insult. She’d be something else entirely.”
“But how do you explain her ranking first in the entire grade every time? Teachers have confirmed she doesn’t cheat.”
Over in the advanced class.

Danica looked at Cassia. “Actually, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you for a while.”
“What?”
“Grandma mentioned your certificate… Did you really compete in the International Mathematical Olympiad?”

Cassia was playing chess online on her phone, multitasking as she replied casually, “I was bored a while back, so I just joined.”
She really competed in the IMO?
“No way.” A classmate sitting behind Cassia couldn’t help but interrupt.
He flat–out didn’t believe it.
“Wait. Before the IMO, you’d have to pass the school qualifier and then the Vrastin qualifier first. That means you already passed both of those?”
The same question came up in the honors class.
Brie clenched her jaw but nodded calmly. “Yes. I can confirm. Cassia passed both before I even went to compete in Vrastin.”
“Seriously?”
“I bet Brie’s just saying that on purpose.”
As the discussion went on, the suspicion began shifting toward Brie.
She bit down on her back teeth, feeling the unfriendly stares. She wanted to scream.
But she had to hold it in. If she lost control now, she’d never recover.
“You’re underestimating Cassia,” Brie said lightly. “I don’t know why Grandma said there was something odd about her certificate, but she really did compete in the IMO. If you don’t believe me, I’ll bring her certificate tomorrow.”
Perfect timing–tomorrow night was the parent–teacher meeting.
A few days ago, she’d snuck into Cassia’s room.
Of course, she waited until no one was home.
Her goal was to find something valuable–maybe even one of Jayden’s authentic works.
And to see if Cassia was hiding any secrets. If she found something, she’d expose everything and humiliate Cassia.
