Brie’s room was decorated in an over–the–top princess style–lavish and glittering, all gold accents and sparkle. The moment you stepped inside, it felt less like a bedroom and more like a luxury boutique in a high–end mall.
But after digging through piles of designer items for a long time, Georgia came up empty–handed.
Just as she was about to give up and leave, her eyes accidentally flicked toward the bed and caught sight of something black sticking out from underneath.
Compared to the surrounding extravagance, that dark object looked suspicious. What is that?
Georgia crouched down and pulled it out.
It was a black plastic bag stuffed with something inside.
She untied the bag and found a Zrario High school uniform inside.
Georgia turned her head and looked toward Brie’s closet.
She had opened it earlier and seen that, aside from expensive brand–name clothes, jewelry, and handbags, there were also neatly hung school uniforms.
Why is she throwing away just this one set? And why stuff a uniform–something worn every day–into a black plastic bag and hide it under the bed?
The more Georgia thought about it, the more suspicious it felt. She took out the uniform and began examining it carefully, over and over again.
After her thorough inspection, she noticed that on the uniform pants there was a noticeable dark stain with a hint of red in it, as if some kind of liquid had accidentally splashed onto the fabric.
It had clearly been washed, but maybe the color was too deep to come out completely, which was why Brie had planned to throw it
away.
Danica had once told her that when Brie pushed her down the stairs, she had been wearing her school uniform.
A thought suddenly flashed through Georgia’s mind. Could this be Danica’s blood?
At that realization, Georgia quickly stuffed the uniform back into the plastic bag, tied it shut, hugged the bag to her chest, and left Brie’s room.
She locked the door again.
After completing her task, Georgia sent Danica a message and left Wood Manor with the plastic bag.
At that moment, Danica, who was at the park, received Georgia’s message.
“It’s done. Found the evidence. I’ve left.”
Danica replied with an “OK” emoji, slipped her phone back into her pocket, and said to Brie, “Brie, I’m tired. Can we go home?”
Brie answered, “Of course.”

After returning to the Woods, Danica went straight to her small bedroom and closed the door.

Seeing that Danica had gone back to her room, Brie returned to her own bedroom to continue working on practice problems.
Ten minutes later, Danica opened her door.
Hearing no movement from Brie’s room, she quietly tiptoed to the front door, opened it, and slipped outside.
Georgia was already waiting at the place they had agreed on.
“Danica, look–this is Brie’s uniform.” When she saw Danica approaching, Georgia hurried over, untied the black plastic bag in her arms, and showed her what was inside.
“There’s a stain on the pants that looks like blood. If we can confirm it’s your blood, then we can prove Brie was the one who pushed you.”
Danica took the pants, examined the stain Georgia had pointed out, then put them back into the bag.
“Let’s go get it tested,” Danica said, then headed toward the hospital.
“Okay!” Georgia followed behind her.
Soon it was evening, and the parent–teacher conference at Zrario High was about to begin. Parents of the senior students arrived one after another.
Since the three daughters were in two different classes, both Vance and Geneva had to come to Zrario High.
Naturally, Vance chose to attend Brie’s conference in the honors class, while Geneva would go to the other two girls‘ class.
The moment Vance sat down in Brie’s seat, he felt proud and satisfied. When he saw her ranking, he smiled so broadly that the wrinkles on his face deepened.
“Look at my daughter–always making me proud! Second in the grade again on this mock exam!”
The other parents shot Vance envious looks.
