Aspen calmly took his phone back and slipped it into his pocket.

His eyes were flat and unreadable, but in his mind, a plan for payback had already taken shape.

“Just wait and see. Wood Group is next.”

After saying that to Vance, he turned and walked straight for the door without looking back.

“You little bastard! Stop right there! What the hell do you mean? Explain yourself!” Vance shouted as he lunged after Aspen.

Just as Vance was about to grab Aspen by the shoulder, the door suddenly burst open, kicked in with brute force, and Mike charged inside.

“Mr. Wilcox?” Vance had barely gotten the words out when Mike grabbed him by the collar and started throwing punches and kicks.

“Vance, you piece of shit!”

Mike rained blows down on him like a madman, cursing at the top of his lungs.

Vance was completely stunned, beaten, and yelled at out of nowhere. He curled up on the floor like a ball, clutching his head, unable to make sense of anything.

Aspen watched the whole thing coldly from start to finish.

A few officers rushed in from outside, dragging Mike off Vance and pinning him down.

The shouting didn’t stop. If Mike hadn’t been restrained by the officers, he would’ve beaten Vance to death.

It took Vance a long while before his frozen brain finally started working again.

“M–Mr. Wilcox, what happened?”

Vance was furious at being attacked like that, but more than that, he was desperate to know what could’ve caused Wilcox Group, the number one richest company in Zrario, to collapse overnight.

Had they offended someone they shouldn’t have?

“Vance, you’ll die a miserable death! I’ll be waiting. Waiting for you to come down to hell with me!”

For disrupting order in the police station, Mike was forcibly taken away by the officers, still throwing vicious curses over his

shoulder at Vance.

Vance stood there in a daze for a long moment, watching him being dragged off, before forming a rough conclusion in his head.

Mike must’ve snapped after the sudden bankruptcy and lost his mind, thinking I had something to do with it.

What a lunatic. His company went under, and somehow that’s my fault?

Vance wanted to ask Aspen what he meant earlier.

But when he looked around, Aspen was already gone.

“Damn it!” Vance suddenly remembered something.

He had arranged for Cassia and Mike to be in a private room…

Now that Wilcox Group had gone bankrupt, the marriage alliance was worthless.

Vance quickly dialed Victoria’s number.

After finishing her conversation with Justin that morning, Victoria had returned to the Wood Manor and was now sitting on the living room couch, watching TV.

“Hello?”

“Mom, go stop Cassia and Mike right now! I’ll explain later. Hurry! If you’re too late, it’ll be over!”

Victoria was confused, but she still rushed out toward the café where Cassia and Mike were.

Geneva came out of the kitchen and saw Victoria standing by the entrance, already in her shoes, hurrying out the door.

“Where are you going this late?”

Victoria felt a little guilty and lied, “I suddenly got a headache. I’m going out for some fresh air.”
