Chapter 79 So Uncultured
“Alright then, make sure she doesn’t appear in front of me so much from now on,” Victoria said, still unwilling to let it go.
“Okay, okay, we’ll listen to you,” Vance said obediently, being a dutiful son who always followed his mother’s word.
Vance came out of Victoria’s room and saw Danica and Brie whispering to each other.
“What are you two little ones talking about?” Vance asked with a smile.
“Dad, you’re biased! You only like Cassia now and don’t love us anymore,” Danica pouted coquettishly.
“Nonsense, Dad loves you all the same. From now on, you sisters should be close and not quarrel,” Vance replied.
Danica grimaced. Getting along peacefully with Cassia? That was pure fantasy.
She and Cassia were natural enemies; if one existed, the other couldn’t.
Brie tugged at Danica’s sleeve to signal her not to argue with Dad.
Seeing how sensible Brie was, Vance
truly gratified. Even though this daughter wasn’t
biologically his, seeing her so considerate made him happy.
The next day was the day final exam results were announced. Actually, it was more like a baseline assessment, but everyone still cared a lot.
Especially the top students, because this would affect their guaranteed admission to Vego University.
So they were all nervous.
Brie woke up feeling anxious. Her goal was to secure admission to Vego University. If she succeeded, her future would be smooth.
Right now, she felt she had the best shot.
From the previous exam, she had come second while Cassia had taken first, but Brie thought it was just a fluke.
One person couldn’t always be that lucky.
1/3
Cassia had just happened to get first that one time; she wouldn’t always be number one.
So Brie was still confident.
Her grades were stable, and she was multi–talented.
Guaranteed admission depended on overall performance as well.
Early in the morning, Brie and Danica went to school, eager to know the results immediately.
Cassia, on the other hand, strolled into the classroom just on time.
By now, everyone was used to seeing her. She wore a T–shirt with her school uniform over it. As she sat down, Sacha came over, “Cassia, are you nervous? The results are about to be announced.”
Cassia smiled faintly, “There’s nothing to be nervous about.”
For her, it was just a game; the score didn’t matter.
“Ah, I can tell by looking at you that you did well. If I do badly, I won’t get to see my idol’s concert! You know? Next weekend, Zach Waters is performing in Zrario. I’m so excited!” Sacha gushed.
“Yeah, keep it up. You’ll definitely be able to see him,” Cassia encouraged.
“Thanks for the vote of confidence,” Sacha said happily.
“Mm.”
Cassia nodded lightly and then ignored Sacha.
She stretched her arms upward, lay her body on the desk, and closed her eyes.
Sacha knew Cassia was about to nap again.
Every time Cassia came to class, she would lie on her desk, ignoring everything else.
Besides sleeping, this girl seemed to have no other interests.
Seeing Cassia like this, Sacha was used to it but still couldn’t help asking, “Cassia, the teacher will announce the results soon. Aren’t you nervous? You’re not curious about your score?”
