"Daisy, you..." The staff member took a step forward.
Daisy immediately lowered her eyes and shut her mouth.
The staff member sighed and began disinfecting her wound with the iodine swab. Throughout the entire process, she didn't make a single sound of pain. It seemed all those tears from earlier were genuinely just out of fear that Xavier might die.
The staff member's feelings grew increasingly complicated. As he carefully applied the band-aid, he couldn't help but say, "Once you study geography, you'll learn that this is just a very common natural disaster. You... you aren't a jinx."

Chloe had just woken up when she heard the news of Xavier's injury.
And he had gotten hurt protecting Daisy!
Chloe almost laughed out loud on the spot.
*This is perfect!*
Now, the Sterlings would absolutely despise Daisy!
It didn't matter if Daisy had managed to win over the young heir's affection; she could forget about ever becoming the Sterlings' adopted daughter in this lifetime.
Chloe hurried downstairs, her face a mask of deep concern as she approached Julian. "Mr. Sterling, I heard Xavier got hurt? Is it serious?"
Julian brushed it off. "It's nothing serious."
Chloe asked gently, "Are we going to visit him?"
Julian paused. "You want to go?"
Chloe nodded eagerly.
She heard that Daisy had been left behind in the village while Xavier was sent to the hospital in Oakridge. If she could tag along with Julian to see him... they would naturally grow closer.
"Let's go, then," Julian quickly decided.
Chloe was thrilled, but she made sure to maintain her facade of innocent confusion. "What about Mrs. Sterling? Isn't she coming?"
"She's been very busy lately," Julian replied.
Chloe murmured softly, "Won't Xavier be sad if he doesn't see his mom?" What she really wanted to imply was that Autumn was a terrible, neglectful mother.
But Julian chuckled. "Xavier is probably thrilled he doesn't have to see his mother."
"Huh? Why?" Chloe wondered if Xavier actually had a terrible relationship with his mother. That would be even better. She hated Autumn anyway!
But Julian didn't elaborate further.
A short time later, the maids packed Chloe's luggage, and they quickly boarded a flight to the nearest city with an airport near the mountain village.
Thanks to Julian, Chloe experienced the joy of flying first class for the very first time.
Since they weren't being filmed right now, it seemed like a complete waste not to show off.
Chloe quickly pulled out her phone and snapped a bunch of photos of the luxurious cabin. After they landed, she secretly registered a social media account, uploaded the pictures, and captioned it: *Thank you to my very own Daddy Long-Legs.*
