The chief director hurried forward, pointing at the dilapidated shack behind him. "This is the filming location. You'll need to stay here for a few days."
Quinn Hawthorne turned his head and spat out a few words. "Does Xavier Sterling live in a pigsty?"
The chief director was speechless.
The live chat went wild: [...]
[Wow, this guy's mouth is even more toxic than Xavier's.]
[I'm starting to see why their two families are mortal enemies.]
"Is there nowhere else to choose?" Quinn asked again.
"Uh, no."
Quinn said nothing more. He took a step toward the run-down shack in the distance.
The chief director instantly breathed a sigh of relief. He thought to himself, *This guy is actually easier to persuade than Xavier? Then the rest of the shoot should go smoothly, right?*
Sadness aside, the pigs still needed to be fed. After feeding them, Daisy Lowell hugged the metal basin and walked back, bumping right into Quinn.
She froze for a moment before realizing... a stranger had arrived!
"Who are you?" Daisy stared at him warily.
Quinn lowered his eyes, looking at the little girl who didn't even reach his waist. His tone didn't soften much as he spoke stiffly. "The production crew didn't tell you? Xavier left. I'm here to replace him."
Daisy's eyes instantly widened. Her beautiful eyes brimmed with tears, but they didn't fall.
"Xavier left?"
"He's not coming back?"
She muttered the two questions in succession.
Quinn had no idea how his father had arranged things, so he said nothing.
To Daisy, his silence was a confirmation.
Her tiny face filled with disappointment, completely unable to accept it.
Quinn couldn't help but think, *Am I that bad?*
*Could I really be worse than Xavier?*
The live chat was buzzing:
[Let me see what tricks Daisy will pull when facing Quinn.]
