Sebastian hunted two curlyhorn beasts and gathered plenty of fruits and plants. What delighted Laurel most was that they even caught several river crayfish more than three feet long in the valley.

Since this was her first time hosting friends, she picked a large bundle of fresh flowers to add a sense of occasion to the meal.

After preparing the ingredients, the two of them returned to the cave, only to find Alice and her family already waiting at the entrance.

Seeing Alice’s seven strong and handsome mates, Laurel smacked her lips and could not help admiring Alice’s impressive ability to manage her household.

When Laurel saw the feather beasts, her eyes lit up. They looked just like oversized feral chickens.

An idea struck her. She had Sebastian build a fence by the pond and keep the feather beasts there, planning to collect eggs every day in the future.

Once they entered the cave, Alice’s beautiful eyes widened in amazement.

It had been dark the night before, and she had been too focused on eating to notice the changes in Sebastian’s cave.

Now, leaf curtains filtered multicolored light into the space, scattering soft patterns across the walls and floor. It felt like stepping into a dream of light and shadow.

Alice excitedly grabbed Marvin and another mate, Esmond Hutchinson, and begged Laurel to give them a tour.

Laurel happily agreed and carefully explained the layout and decorations of the cave.

Marvin and Esmond listened attentively, while Alice praised Laurel’s creativity nonstop.

“Laurel, you’re so smart! I want to be best friends with you forever!” Alice said excitedly.

“I … I’d love that too,” Laurel replied shyly, lowering her head while feeling both nervous and thrilled.

He silently swore to study hard from now on and learn how to better care for his Matriarch.

Alice leaned over and happily hugged Laurel’s arm. “Grapefruit and grape? That’s such a cute name! Laurel, you’re so clever!”

Sebastian calmly stepped forward and gently edged Alice aside.

He wrapped his arms around Laurel from behind and praised her warmly. “Laurel has always been smart. You all can handle the rest. She’s tired, so I’m taking her to rest.”

With that, he picked Laurel up and walked away without looking back.

Alice rolled her eyes at Sebastian but followed after them anyway. “Laurel, I brought so many kinds of fruit. Try them and tell me which ones you like. I’ll have Danny pick them for you every day!”

“No,” Sebastian replied coldly. That fox needed to back off. His little female was his to spoil.
