Chapter 117 The Fight in the Bathroom

In the dim light, she finally saw what the water ghost looked like.

It was like a mountain of rotten flesh-its gray-blue skin had swelled from soaking too long, ballooning and oozing filthy water from every crease, reeking so bad it made the air thick.

Its face was beyond recognition, twisted and horrifying. Its bloated belly was almost see- through, showing decayed organs sloshing inside, bubbling with green foam and making a sick gurgling sound.

Venus frowned. “How long has this thing been dead?”

The ghost’s hair clung to its body like rotten seaweed, stringy and sticky.

Then, disturbingly, the strands started squirming toward her like they were alive.

Venus did not hesitate. She grabbed the wooden sword at her waist and swung hard.

The hair recoiled instantly.

The water ghost glared at her, and the temperature in the bathroom dropped fast.

Frost spread over the tiles, creeping out in every direction.

Venus shivered but did not pause. She raised her sword and lunged.

The water ghost opened its mouth and hissed at her.

“Venus!”

Neil rushed into the bathroom. “What are you hiding in here?”

Splash!

A wave of black water poured down from above, soaking him completely.

Venus had already moved aside, not a drop touching her.

“The water pipe burst … ” Neil stood there, drenched and covered in thick black slime, too shocked to react.

Venus noticed the water ghost had broken free from the talisman’s hold.

Before she could chase it, the ghost dove straight into the toilet, slipping down with the water.

She pinched her nose, glaring at Neil. “Who told you to follow me? You just messed everything up.”

Neil finally snapped out of it, about to curse, when something slimy slid down his cheek and

into his mouth.

“What the …”

He spat it into his hand.

It was a half-rotted fish tail, crawling with maggots.

“Ah!”

Neil screamed, face pale as death, and threw up right there.

Venus gagged, even more disgusted than he, and stepped around him to return to the ward.

The fire circle had already burned out. Sophia was safe.

Lucas shot to his feet the second Venus came in. He shoved Darcy aside and started shouting furiously,

“Venus, who told you to start a fire in a hospital room? Were you trying to burn my daughter alive? You really are as vicious as your brother said!”

He pointed at her, voice shaking with anger. “Are you jealous of my daughter because she has a loving family? Is that why you want to kill her?”

Darcy rushed to explain, sweating from panic. “Mr. Jynn, please, you’re misunderstanding her! Ms. Oracle was saving Sophia, not hurting her!”

“Rubbish!” Lucas snapped. “If Neil hadn’t acted fast, my daughter would’ve been burned alive! I’m calling the cops! She’s going to jail for attempted murder!”

He was furious.

Sophia was his only child, pampered and loved since birth, so he would never let anyone hurt her.

If Darcy had not held him back, he might have hit Venus right there.

“Mr. Jynn, please calm down!” Darcy begged. “Ms. Oracle didn’t mean any harm; she really was saving her!”

“Shut up!” Lucas pushed him aside.
