Venus slept like a log and woke up at sunrise. As usual, she did her morning workout on the rooftop.

This time, June joined her.

By the time they finished their workout, both of them felt warm and energized.

They ate breakfast together, and then the doorbell rang

June opened the door and found Saul standing outside.

Saul glanced around the living room first, making sure there was no danger, then let out a sigh of relief.

“Ms. Oracle, Mr. Drake has already come home. If you’re free today, could you help Mr. Drake break the blood omen?”

Venus nodded, then asked curiously, “What were you looking at just now?”

Saul smiled. “Mr. Drake saw some negative news about you online this morning and was worried some crazed fans might attack you. He asked me to come by early and check on you.”

Venus smiled. “I’m fine. Just take me to see him.”.

When they reached the entrance, Venus noticed there was no car and asked in surprise, “Did you come here on foot?”

Saul gave a mysterious grin. “Ms. Oracle, just follow me

They walked only a few hundred yards before Saul stopped in front of a villa.

Venus was stunned. “Saul, don’t tell me Drake moved into Stormvale?”

Saul chuckled. “Not exactly. The Frosts have always owned property in Stormvale. It’s just that after the string of murders in your villa, this place had been empty for a while.”

“So why move in now?”

Saul looked serious. “Mr. Drake said if Ms. Oracle likes his area, it must be a great place. So he had me prepare the villa, and moved in as soon as he was discharged from the hospital.”

Venus raised her eyebrows in surprise. “So now he finally believes that what I say is legit?”

“Ever since you gave him that protective sigil, Mr. Drake has finally been able to sleep through the night.” Saul looked grateful. “I think Mr. Drake just wants to be loser to you. Maybe it makes him feel safer.

Venus was speechless.

Why does that sound so familiar?

I feel like that rascal Drake already said that before, something about feeling especially safe around me.

But that’s no excuse to keep hanging around me forever!

Venus couldn’t exactly kick him out. After all, he was living in his own property.

“Ms. Oracle, please come in.” Saul welcomed her warmly and opened the door.

Venus walked in and saw a place decorated in a minimalist style. Everything was calm and elegant, with a definite upscale feel.

Drake was sitting on the sofa in black silk pajamas, holding a tablet and dealing with company business.

He was tall and lean, and his posture was graceful in a way that looked both lazy and refined.

From Venus’s angle, his side profile was just perfect.

Her gaze dropped to his pale, thin lips.

She couldn’t help but remember how those lips had bitten her collarbone, nibbled her lips, and left cold kisses all over her body….

“Ahem!” Venus suddenly felt her cheeks get hot and coughed a couple of times.

“Mr. Drake, Ms. Oracle is here.” Hearing that, Drake finally looked up from his work, his eyes bright and focused.

“Have a seat.”

He set his tablet aside and gestured for her to sit down.

Venus had just sat down when she noticed the faint outline of his chest muscles under his pajamas …

Oh my god!

Who would’ve thought a guy who looks so slim would be hiding muscles under his shirt!

She swallowed unconsciously.

“Ms. Oracle, what would you like to drink? Juice, coffee, or tea?”

Venus snapped out of it and answered, trying to sound serious, “Tea, please.”

Seriously, why invite me over first thing in the morning and get me in your pajamas? Couldn’t you put some clothes

on?

Drake caught her uneasiness and grinned. “It seems like you’ve been scared of me since day one. Ms. Oracle?”

Smack!

Venus jumped up and slapped the table. “Who’s scared of you!”
