Chapter 69 Nameless Heroes

Neoma froze, her face flushing with the shame of being exposed.

“I heard you grew up in a mountain town,” she said. “Life at home must have been rough, right?”

When pressure failed, she tried bribery.

“If you can make Earl divorce and married me, I’ll give you a million dollars.

“A million might not be much, but it would ease your money worries. You wouldn’t have to scrape by or bow to them anymore. What do you say?”

Neoma doubted Venus wouldn’t change her mind over million dollars.

Venus replied with calm indifference, “Even if you offered me ten million, or a hundred million, I’m not interested.”

“You-” Neoma sputtered, outraged.

“I have other things to do. Ms. Day… One piece of advice: stop making trouble.”

Venus left without looking back.

Humiliated and furious, Neoma shot back, “You seriously think people calling you Ms. Oracle actually makes you a pro!

“All you ever did was learn a little craft in that mountain town. Venus, don’t regret passing up this million!”

She fired off those words. In a fresh surge of emotion, Neoma grabbed her phone to call Earl.

To her shock, Earl actually blocked her number.

He did that for the phone number and every other app.

“EARL OBRIEN!” she hissed, hand on her belly, eyes full of hate.

“Fine, you’re good at this. You wanted me to end the pregnancy, right? I’ll take the check you gave me and find the strongest sorcerer. I’ll terminate the pregnancy and have them turn the child into a cursed thing that haunts you forever!”

Venus climbed onto her motorized tricycle and left Nena’s building. At the intersection, she stopped tor the red light.

Across the street a horrible crash had just happened. Ad Ferrari had slammed into a woman and her daughter on an electric scooter, tearing their bodies apart and throwing them several feet away

The little girl was killed instantly. Her soul drifted freed stood at the curb, confused and helpless.

Venus rushed over to help.

By chance, Neil was driving by and saw the accident. He pulled over, ran to the scene, and tried to save the

“Venus? What are you doing?” Neil snapped when he saw her kneeling beside the child. Alarm sharpened his

voice.

Venus didn’t respond. She took off her jacket and gently laid it over the girl’s shattered head.

Neil barked, “Stop wasting time! Help me over here!”

Venus glanced at the mother Neil was working on. “She won’t die,” Venus said quietly.

Then she walked toward the red Ferrari.

The driver was a spoiled young kid, the kind born with too much money and too little conscience. He had just killed someone. Instead of fear or guilt, he was furious that the hood of his shiny new sports car was smashed.

“Damn it! I just bought this car!”

He yelled, kicking the bumper. “Bah, worthless nobodies! They got what they deserved!”

That rich kid cursed and spat on the little girl’s body.

The crowd gasped, but no one dared to speak up.

Everyone could tell from his clothes, his attitude, and his car. This kid came from money. The kind of money that could crush ordinary people without consequence.

Venus instantly recognized him. Oliver Byrne, the youngest son of the Byrnes.

Oliver was infamous in the city—a playboy raised in luxury, known for his arrogance and cruelty. There was nothing he hadn’t done. He drank, gambled, and treated girls like toys. Dozens of young women had fallen victim to his charm and lies.

Though barely an adult, he was already rotten to the come.

The people around him were furious, their fists clenche, but no one dared to speak.

They all knew the Byrnes had enough power to bury anyone who got in their way,

“Hey, Oliver said into his phone, sounding bored. “Yeah I hit someone in Zrebert. Get someone here to clean it up. My car’s wrecked. Buy me a new one.” He spoke with one hand in his pocket, completely unbothered, like he was talking about spilling coffee insad of taking a life.

Suddenly, Oliver felt a chill crawl up his spine.

He turned around.

Before he could even see who it was, two fingers jabbed straight into his eyes.

“Ahhh!”

Oliver screamed, staggering backward. The next moment, a storm of punches crashed down on him like heavy rain, each blow harder than the last.

“Who the hell-ah! Stop! That hurts!” he howled, trying to cover his face.
