Chapter 84 The Compensation
Those relatives were here to back Linette up, not to get punched by a lunatic. Nobody wanted trouble, so they nodded and stepped back.
Mark shot his wife a look.
Patience caught on right away. The two quickly gathered the others to slip out of the area.
Venus had a good guess where they were headed. When she saw Linette refused to leave, she raised her voice and shouted, “They’re going to find the driver and demand money!”
That did it. Linette spun around in a fury.
She yelled for her relatives to follow as she charged off after the Claytons.
Rowan pushed himself up from the floor and brushed off his pants. “So many people are going after the Byrnes for money; Dr. Byrne’s in for a real headache.”
Venus stepped into the hospital room. Ava’s eyes instantly filled with tears, spilling down her cheeks, but she couldn’t move. Her lips trembled, forming broken sounds.
“Th-thank you… M-Ms. Oracle…”
Venus turned to Rowan and asked suspiciously, “This is what you call ‘she healed Ava?”
“If Dr. Byrne hadn’t stepped in, Ava’d still be in a coma,” Rowan said with a sigh. “No wonder Dr. Blanton would praise her. Dr. Byrne’s really skilled!”
“Skilled! My foot!” Venus said, half-laughing in disbelief. “Didn’t I tell you to call me the moment anything went wrong?”
Rowan looked confused. “Nothing went wrong. She woke up, didn’t she?”
Venus said darkly, “Yeah, she woke up, but she’s paralyzed. That’s no better than being in a coma.”
Rowan scratched his head and wore a complicated look. “You don’t know medicine, so maybe you don’t get it. Waking a vegetative patient this fast is already a miracle! Do you know how rare that is? Hardly anyone in the world can do that.
“Dr. Byrne’s really not as bad as you think,” he added. “She’s got real skills, and her family is offering compensation. I heard they’re willing to pay 3 million to settle this quietly.”
Venus cut him off. “And 3 million can’t make up for losing a child and ending up paralyzed in bed.”

Chapter 87 Summon the Spirit from Beyond
“You grow up in the mountain town. You wouldn’t understand any of this,” Neil said coldly.
Venus gave a small laugh. “So my pride means nothing to you? You can just walk all over me as you please?”
“Who’s trampling your pride?”
Venus’s tone sharpened. “Lumi ordered the maid to steal Bree’s bracelet and hide it in my room. Your father hit me for it and made me lock myself outside the house in a storm for all night long. Did any of you ask me what really happened?”
Her voice sharpened. “Even when I proved I was innocent, did any of you ever apologize?”
She gave a cold laugh. “And now you still stand tall as ever, asking me to come home, as if you were the victim here.”
Neil frowned. “I didn’t think you’d hold a grudge this long. It’s all in the past-why be so petty? We’re family.”
“Maybe it’s in the past for you,” Venus said calmly. “But for the girl who was beaten and left in the rain, it never ended. That night is burned into me. I’m never going back to the house.
Her tone was even, but her words cut deep. “You’ve all made it clear I was never welcome. Fine. Keep pretending I don’t exist. I won’t bother you, and you stay out of my
my life.”
Neil tightened his brows and asked, “I’m still your older brother. You think I’ll let you run wild outside, making a fool of yourself and ruining our family reputation?”
Venus’s gaze turned sharp, almost cutting. “Then tell the world I’m no longer your adopted sister. Say I have nothing to do with your family. Lying with a straight face has always been your family’s greatest virtue, hasn’t it?”
“You-!” Neil trembled with anger.
“You’re hopeless!”
Venus shrugged. “Takes one to know one.”
Just then, Vienna came out of the room, her face bright with excitement. “Neil! My family just sent word. Dr. Blanton agreed to come to Zrebert and meet me! He’ll work with me to treat
Ava!”
Neil’s anger vanished instantly. His expression lit up. “That’s amazing, Vienna! You actually got Dr. Blanton to come? He praised you during that conference, remember?”
Vienna’s eyes widened in surprise. “Really? Are you serious? Why would Dr. Blanton even know
