Chapter 85 Make Me Walk Again
Ava couldn’t move.
She couldn’t feel a thing.
Wilmot snorted, “Have you ever heard of paying 3 million dollars for a car accident’s compensation? You should be grateful. That’s more than enough. How much more are you trying to get?”
Bang!
The door burst open. Venus kicked it wide with one sharp move.
Vienna’s face turned dark the moment she saw her.
“3 million dollars for your wife and kid’s lives-does that sound fair to you?” Venus asked with a bright smile.
Wilmot’s face went ashen. “Who are you to talk to me like that?”
“Oh, my bad.” Venus said lightly. “Your wife and kid did nothing wrong. How about this? 3 million dollars for your life. You in?”
Wilmot almost exploded. “Me? Do you even know who I am? You think my life’s worth that little? What a joke!”
Venus mocked, “Who are you, really? Just an old man with too much ego. You said life can’t be measured by money, so why are you forcing Ms. Clayton to forgive the people who ruined hers?”
Ava’s eyes filled with tears at her words.
Vienna frowned. “Life can’t be measured by money, true. But the dead are gone. What matters now are the living, don’t you think?”
Venus’ tone turned cold. “None of you have the right to force Ms. Clayton to sign that settlement agreement.”
Vienna glanced at the lawyer.
The lawyer immediately spoke up, his voice confident. “Since Ms. Clayton is severely disabled and unable to respond, her family can legally represent her. My client came here out of respect, hoping to get her consent. But even if she refuses, as long as her mother-in-law agrees, the case is closed.”

Chapter 88 The Doctor from the Underworld
Linette was furious. “Are you people still my family or not? You’re going to walk away from that money? We’re talking about millions here!”
One of the relatives looked miserable. “Come on, Linette, even if it’s tens of millions, what good is it if we don’t live long enough to spend it?”
“Yeah,” another chimed in, pale-faced. “We all dreamed of Gregory last night. He came to warn us. If we kept bullying his wife, he’d come and take us with him.”
Cold sweat broke out across Linette’s back.
She’d had the same dream. Her son was begging her to stop, telling her to leave his wife alone.
Still, the thought of all that settlement money going straight to Ava made her blood boil. She just couldn’t accept it.
Trying to sound pitiful, she said, “My son and granddaughter are both gone. I’m a widow now. How am I supposed to survive without money? We’re family. We should help each other. Once
this money, if any of you ever need help, I’ll share it. And when I’m gone, whatever’s left will go to you anyway.”

Some of them hesitated, her words starting to sink in.
One man scratched his neck and said, “We’re with you. Linette. But maybe you should calm Gregory’s spirit first. He doesn’t seem to be resting easy. Why don’t you ask a medium to talk to him? Once his anger fades, we can move forward”

suggestion made sense. “You’re right. My boy would never side with an outsider. I’ll go find a medium and do it right away.”
She barely thought it through. She bought a few candles and supplies from a mystic shop and lit them by the old oak behind her house, whispering a prayer to ease her son’s restless soul.
After the rites, Linette showed up at the hospital again with a few relatives, ready to cause
trouble.
When she heard Ava had been moved to the VIP ward, she exploded. Her sharp, bitter face twisted with outrage.
“She’s already paralyzed! What’s she doing in a VIP ward? Do you know how much that costs per day?”
Neil came out to block them. “Dr. Byrne invited a top medical expert to treat your daughter-in- law. She needs a quiet environment right now. Family visits aren’t allowed for the moment.”

Linette jabbed her hands on her hips, spitting words right in his face. “Top medical expert, my foot! They’re all scammers out to steal money!”
She glared and barked, “That money came from my granddaughter’s death settlement! Ava doesn’t get to waste a single cent of it!
“I’m telling you, hand her over now. I’m taking her home!”
Neil’s face darkened. He clenched his jaw, barely holding back his rage. “Ms. Clayton needs professional treatment-”
“Screw your treatment!” Linette shouted, shoving him aside and storming toward the VIP section with her relatives.
Neil lost his balance and fell flat on the floor.
