Summary for Chapter 116: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 116 by Ansel Bick

The woman standing in front of him had no excess fat on her limbs; only her stomach was rounded. He didn't need to be a genius to realize she was pregnant.

But on that day at the old mansion, she had been on her period. They hadn't been intimate since.

She was pregnant with another man's baby.

Taking advantage of Mathis's stunned silence, Bianca bolted into the bedroom, grabbed a new shirt, and threw it on. In those brief moments, she formulated a lie to deal with him.

Mathis had collapsed onto the sofa, lighting a cigarette. He had never, in his wildest nightmares, imagined that Bianca would ever sleep with another man.

She was always so cold, so disciplined.

He thought she would never betray him. Not only had she betrayed him, but she was pregnant with someone else's child.

And she was planning to keep it.

Mathis took a drag of his cigarette, his eyes bloodshot as he looked up. Beneath his sharp gaze was a profound, suffocating grief.

Bianca's heart gave a slight tremor. So this was how a man reacted to being cheated on.

Did he ever stop to think how agonizing it had been for her when she found out he had an illegitimate child?

Bianca understood a man's pride, but right now, all she cared about was making sure he didn't try to drag her to an abortion clinic.

Staring at her, Mathis rasped, "So the reason you've been so desperate for a divorce is because you had someone else in your heart. Does your little Milo know you're such a..." He couldn't bring himself to call her a whore.

"I'm sorry," Bianca said smoothly. "It's my fault, which is why I'll walk away with nothing."

Tears threatened to spill from his eyes. "Whose child is it?"

He couldn't think of any man close to Bianca, aside from Cillian Calder.

But if it were Cillian, he would never have let his woman live alone in such a tiny apartment.

"Didn't you destroy our marriage for your own illegitimate child?" Bianca shot back. "A marriage full of lies and holes shouldn't exist in the first place."

Mathis slowly released her hand. "So you're doing this just to get even with me for having a child with someone else?"

"Sure, let's go with that," Bianca said calmly. "We're even now. If you feel like I owe you, I can return both houses and the car."

Mathis stood there, his face dangerously dark, saying nothing.

"If you absolutely must have the ten million your family gave me when we married, I'll pay half of it back. From now on, we owe each other nothing."

"What I gave you is yours," Mathis said grimly. "Watch yourself, Bianca."

He slammed the door as he left.

The next morning, Milo excitedly called Bianca. "Your ex-husband is flying back to Kingsbridge City this afternoon. I've got everything ready on my end. Once he's in the air, your marriage is getting exposed."
