Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 134 by Ansel Bick
Bianca gave him no response.
When dinner time arrived, Xanthe brought over Bianca’s favorite dishes, only to find Mathis still lingering in the room. Cynthia had called him at one point, and he had stepped out to take it for quite a while.
Bianca’s disgust for him had reached its absolute peak, but now, she couldn’t even muster the energy to mock him.
Seeing Bianca’s pale complexion, Xanthe didn’t hesitate to kick him out. "Mr. Jagger, don't you think it's bad form to stress out a pregnant woman?"
Mathis shot her an icy glare. "Is my business any of your concern?"
Xanthe rolled her eyes. "She can't eat with you hovering around, and she hasn't had a bite all day." She practically had to bite her tongue to keep from cursing him out.
Only then did Mathis finally stand up and leave.
Once he was gone, Xanthe adjusted the bed so Bianca could sit up. Despite her foul mood, Bianca knew she had to eat for the baby's sake.
"I heard Mathis brought in every top specialist he could find this morning," Xanthe said gently, trying to comfort her. "Mabel should be fine. Please try not to worry too much. Milo was so furious he wanted to transfer her to a different hospital, but Simon warned him the move could worsen her condition, so he backed off."
Bianca asked, "Where is Milo staying now?"
Xanthe placed some food on her plate. "His family has a place here in Kingsbridge, so he went home. Honestly, I wanted to tell him to crash at your penthouse just to piss Mathis off."
"There's no point," Bianca replied quietly. "Mathis doesn't care about me. He's just lashing out because he can't control me anymore. He went back on the divorce again. He’s always been this unpredictable."
That was the last straw for Xanthe. She spent the next ten minutes viciously tearing into Mathis's character.
Listening to her friend's furious rant actually lifted Bianca's spirits considerably.
"You're the best, Xanthe."
Since she hadn't suffered any serious physical harm, Bianca was discharged the very next day.
Mathis came to pick her up. Too exhausted to fight, Bianca just let it happen.
Once inside the car, she gave the driver the address to her penthouse and remained completely silent.
The atmosphere in the vehicle was stifling.
Ignoring him entirely, Bianca opened the door and stepped out.
She slammed the car door with enough force to shake the vehicle, making her feelings crystal clear.
A muscle twitched in Mathis's jaw. He turned to the driver. "Take me back to the estate."
Evita had invited Cynthia and her son over to the family manor. She had realized that nothing annoyed Harriet quite like the sight of Cynthia and Lamont.
And as long as Harriet was miserable, Evita was thrilled.
Cynthia caught on quickly, but she didn't mind being used by her mother-in-law.
Only people with value got used. A woman like Bianca wasn't just discarded by Mathis; even Evita and Rosalind treated her like trash.
She was the ultimate loser in this game.
Theodore was waiting for Mathis in his study.
