Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 135 by Ansel Bick

Theodore knew exactly what had happened with Bianca's grandmother. Even though he had stepped back from the company’s daily operations, he still had dedicated personnel reporting back to him.

When Mathis walked in, the older man was practicing calligraphy. He didn't acknowledge his grandson, leaving him to stand in silence.

It took a full thirty minutes before Theodore finally set down his brush.

Displaying a rare flash of anger, the old man scolded him. "How could you use Bianca's grandmother to threaten her? If Simon hadn't called me yesterday, you would have made a catastrophic mistake. Weren't you planning on divorcing her? Why are you still stringing her along?"

"Grandpa, feelings aren't that simple," Mathis replied. "I can't just forget about her."

Theodore's voice grew heavy. "Then ensure Cynthia and her child never set foot in the Jagger household again. Even though your grandmother constantly fights me for control of the corporation, she doesn't deserve to be driven to an early grave over this. We were childhood sweethearts, after all. Your mother is taking things way too far."

"Understood," Mathis agreed without a second's hesitation.

His immediate compliance surprised even Theodore, who had no idea what was really going through his grandson's head.

All he could say was, "You're just like your father. You want the best of both worlds."

Mathis remained silent.

Theodore waved him off in disappointment. "Forget it. I won't interfere in your affairs anymore. I just hope you realize what kind of path you're choosing. Just because a man has the power to choose any woman he wants, doesn't mean he has to.

"Let me give you a piece of advice: Bianca is the right match for you. Even though Cynthia gave you a child, she doesn't fit the mold. You know this better than I do, which is why you can't bear to let Bianca go."

Mathis wasn't surprised by his grandfather's assessment. He had only met Bianca a handful of times, but their conversations were always profound and sweeping.

He knew full well that Bianca perfectly matched the old man's expectations for the future matriarch of the Jagger family.

She might not enjoy socializing, but when she put her mind to something, she excelled at it.

Like when he had forced her to take care of him—she had done a flawless job.

Her family background was infinitely better than Bianca's. The Kingsbridge University degree didn't mean anything—thousands graduated from there every year.

Mathis shot her a glacial glare. "Don't ever mention these disgusting, degrading assumptions ever again."

Terrified by his sudden fury, Cynthia shrank back into her seat, her eyes turning red. "Mathis, why are you yelling at me?"

Lamont quickly piped up to defend her. "Dad, don't yell at Mom! She just doesn't like that bad woman."

A brief flash of sheer disgust crossed Mathis's face, vanishing before Cynthia could even notice.

His tone immediately softened. "You have no right to question my grandfather's motives. Just stay away from the estate from now on. I have another property; I'll take you both there."

Thrilled to be getting another one of his houses, Cynthia perked up. "Is it our new marital home?"
