Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 197 by Ansel Bick
Milo pointed fiercely at the closed doors of the emergency room. "She's suffering from severe clinical depression! She barely sleeps three or four hours a night. Have you ever actually given a damn whether she lives or dies?
It was an emergency! If I didn't carry her, who was going to?"
Mathis's fists were clenched so tight his knuckles were stark white. His tone was dead flat. "Whether I care or not, she just needs to take her medication like the doctor ordered. It's depression, not a terminal disease."
"Do you even know why she has it?" Milo sneered in pure disgust. "Your mistress caused her to miscarry, and that's when it started. You stood by while that psycho cyberbullied her, and then you drove her grandmother to her death.
You completely abandoned her when she needed you, and you refused to avenge the people she loved. Do you have any idea how completely broken she was?"
Mathis refused to entertain the past. "That was then. Moving forward, she has me.
The divorce papers aren't finalized. I am her husband, and I'm the only one who's going to take care of her. Don't make me call the cops and have you all removed."
Simon stepped in again. "Mathis, calm down. We're all terrified for her. We'll leave once we know she's okay."
Mathis said nothing else, and a suffocating silence descended over the corridor.
Hailey was consumed by guilt, terrified that her stupid game idea had just killed Bianca.
Simon squeezed his sister's shoulder reassuringly. "Don't panic. She should be fine. She's a lot tougher than any of us give her credit for."
Surviving over a year of absolute isolation just to secure a divorce proved she had a spine of steel. Very few people could endure that.
Thirty agonizing minutes later, the doctor finally wheeled Bianca out. Her eyes were still tightly shut, her breathing shallow.
"Who is the family member?" the doctor asked.
Cillian stepped forward, but Mathis aggressively shoved past him.
"I'm her husband."
The entire group stared in utter disbelief. They were already getting divorced, and now he wanted to play the devoted husband?
Xanthe rolled her eyes hard enough to hurt. Psycho.
