Summary for Chapter 233: The Transactional Marriage That Imploded

Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 233 by Ansel Bick

Mathis sat up straight, enunciating every word. "You are the only wife I will ever have in this lifetime. That will never change."

His gaze was unwavering, as if he weren't the one who had just proposed to Cynthia.

Bianca remained completely indifferent to his declaration, keeping her eyes fixed on the road.

Mathis studied her profile for a moment before adding, "I mean it."

Bianca let out a dismissive scoff. "Whatever you say has nothing to do with me anymore. I'm already divorced from you anyway."

Mathis's lips pressed into a tight line, his nostrils flaring slightly.

It took him a long time to finally speak again. "Stop treating divorce like a catchphrase. Do you really want Aveline growing up in a broken home?"

Bianca kept her focus entirely on the road, her expression as unruffled as a calm lake.

"What I *really* don't want is for Aveline to have a bunch of older half-siblings parading around in front of her. She is my world, and I won't let her suffer any indignities."

She remembered how she used to be the apple of her parents' eye, how her father had showered her with all his love.

After their family lost everything, her mother had worked herself to the bone to provide for her, eventually falling ill from the exhaustion.

Just thinking about her parents made the corners of Bianca's eyes sting.

The breath caught in Mathis's throat, lodging there painfully.

When he wasn't with Bianca, he desperately wanted to see her, but whenever he did, she always managed to infuriate him.

They didn't speak another word. In the backseat, Aveline giggled happily as she watched cartoons on the screen.

Bianca wasn't driving her old Porsche. She had asked Milo to sell it for her when she left Austin City.

When she returned, Cillian had gifted her a top-tier domestic electric SUV, one whose performance completely outclassed imported luxury cars.
