Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 238 by Ansel Bick
Simon found it hard to believe. The high-and-mighty Mathis Jagger, begging Bianca?
His curiosity was fully piqued. "You actually begged her?"
Mathis downed the rest of his Hennessy in one go, as if the liquor would give him the courage to speak.
In all the years Simon had known Mathis, he had never seen him like this.
The alcohol had brought a slight flush to Mathis's face, and he slowly began to confess. "When she moved out, I was terrified she wouldn't be able to support herself, so I practically threw my black card at her.
"But the second she bought a house and a car, she handed the card right back. She made her boundaries crystal clear.
"Two years ago, when she was working on a project at Progenix Tech, she threw up all over me. I took my shirt off right in front of her.
"She used to always compliment my body, so I thought, surely she'd want to hold me or kiss me, right? But she just looked right through me. The look in her eyes was so cold, like I was a total stranger. It stabbed right through me."
Simon searched his memory, let out a heavy sigh, and said, "You were parading around Progenix Tech with Cynthia every single day. Plus, she was pregnant at the time. Did it ever cross your mind *why* she threw up on you?"
Mathis's expression darkened as he recalled the moment. "She claimed my cologne was making her sick, and because it was Cynthia's perfume. After that, I never wore cologne again.
"When she moved to Austin City, I begged her to come home with me, but she refused. I tried to give her the marital home, and she wouldn't even take it. Her lawyer probably had to force her to accept it.
"I spent hours hunting down limited-edition collectibles she used to love, and she didn't even care. She only opened them because I annoyed her into it. And the second I walked out the door, she threw them in the trash.
"I gave her shares in three different companies, a nine-figure cash settlement, and the villa in Austin City. She lied to my face, told me she had a one-night stand, and that she was pregnant with another man's baby. I was so furious I practically lost my mind, but I still managed to swallow my pride.
