Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 240 by Ansel Bick
Mathis got up to take a shower, completely ignoring Simon.
He was going to see his plan through to the end. Whether or not Bianca ever forgave him was entirely up to her.
When the market opened the next morning, Aeterna Dynamics' stock skyrocketed.
Bianca didn't know much about finance. Cillian, anticipating Stellaride's future IPO, had spent his free time auditing finance courses at Kingsbridge University.
He explained the surge to her. "Everyone in the industry knows Aeterna's biggest backer is Dawnstar. Releasing the news of Mathis and Cynthia's engagement signals that the partnership between the two entities is unbreakable. The capital market loves stability, so the stock price surged. It's a classic bullish signal.
"Of course, it's also highly likely someone is artificially pumping the stock."
Bianca, still unfamiliar with the jargon, simply nodded. "Oh. Well, I guess Cynthia has even more reason to be smug now."
"Definitely," Cillian agreed. "Ever since Aeterna went public over a year ago, their stock has been incredibly resilient. I have to admit, Mathis's operational strategies are terrifyingly effective."
Bianca looked at him thoughtfully. "So is Dawnstar still handling Stellaride's IPO?"
Cillian nodded. "I originally wanted to pull out, but the board voted to give the contract to Dawnstar, so..."
Bianca looked up, seemingly unbothered by the news.
Her voice was clear and steady. "Mathis is a brilliant businessman. As long as he can maximize Stellaride's profits, I really don't mind."
Cillian had always felt guilty about the situation, but to his surprise, Bianca genuinely didn't care.
As they were talking, Cillian's assistant walked in. "Mr. Calder, Cynthia Quinn from Aeterna and Mathis Jagger from Dawnstar are here to discuss a partnership. Should I send them in?"
Cillian immediately waved his hand dismissively. "Stellaride will never partner with Aeterna. Even if their market cap hits the stratosphere, it has nothing to do with me."
But Bianca chimed in, "Cillian, why don't we let them in and hear them out?"
She wanted to see exactly what Cynthia's ultimate angle was.
