Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 313 by Ansel Bick
Mathis promised her right then and there that this would be the last time, and that no matter what she chose in the future, he would never restrict her freedom again.
Bianca was highly skeptical. Last time, he had readily agreed to divorce her, only to go back on his word.
She had no desire to argue with him right now. Fighting with someone you no longer loved was just a waste of breath.
She sat down and took a few bites of rice and vegetables.
Sighing in defeat, Mathis ordered a bowl of light gourmet broth and a protein shake sent up for her.
"You can be angry with me all you want," he said softly, "but you still need to take care of your body. Aveline is young. She needs her mother."
At the mention of Aveline, anger flared in Bianca's chest, and she slammed her silverware down onto the table.
Her eyes burned as she glared at him. "You're the one who forced us apart! You are always so selfish. If there's something you can't have, you'd rather destroy it than let it go."
Her gaze felt like daggers aimed straight at him.
"I must have committed a cardinal sin in my past life to have ever crossed paths with you."
Faced with her fury, Mathis didn't get angry. It almost felt like they were back in their old marital home.
As long as she didn't treat him like a stranger, he could handle it.
His tone remained gentle. "Eat your food once you're done yelling. Don't you hate me? Get your strength back so you can keep scheming against me. I know you won't let me off the hook anyway."
Though he said it so casually, deep down, he was desperately hoping that once she learned the truth, she would forgive him.
Bianca didn't reply. Fighting down a wave of nausea, she forced the food down her throat.
Once she finished, she headed straight for the bedroom to sleep. Mathis shadowed her closely, impossible to shake off.
When she stepped into the room, the sight made her freeze.
Rose petals were arranged in a massive heart shape on the king-sized bed. Both nightstands and the vanity were covered in Gloriosa Lilies.
Their six petals were elegantly swept back, the edges burning with a fiery crimson wave that bled into a warm, golden base.
Ordinary roses were soft and compliant, but this flower was sharp, fierce, and distinctly unapproachable—just like the woman who absolutely refused to bow her head to him.
Mathis had these flown in on a specialized cold-chain flight from thousands of miles away. There were barely any available in the entire city.
He used to hate giving flowers, thinking they were far too fleeting, but after noticing how much she loved tending to plants, he began catering to her preferences.
Unfortunately, the brief flash of surprise in her eyes vanished as quickly as it came. She didn't offer him a single word.
Mathis steadied himself, reminding his temper to stay in check. If he treated her badly now, she really would run off and marry another man.
Her resolve to leave him was ironclad.
Mathis pulled open the door to the walk-in closet, and Bianca immediately spotted the haute couture wedding gown hanging in the center.
It was a minimalist, strapless design, cleanly tailored from pristine white satin. It lacked any heavy embellishments, but one look proved it was the handcrafted work of a master designer.
Her expression, which had been blank a moment ago, darkened considerably at the sight of all these loaded implications.
