But please, keep an eye on who the Jaggers try to pay off for me."
Milo scolded her playfully, "No more of this 'please' nonsense between us. I'm your future husband; protecting you is literally my job."
Bianca smiled, amused. "You're really leaning into this fiancé role, aren't you?"
"Obviously."
With the heavy topic out of the way, they shifted to lighter everyday things. Milo updated her on his game launch.
It was scheduled for next Saturday. Originally, he had planned to fly out Friday night and spend the whole weekend with her, but now he had to postpone.
Bianca told him that if she was free, she could fly to Austin City on Friday night to see him instead.
"Just don't come pick me up at the airport. I really don't want us getting photographed by the paparazzi."
Milo agreed. "I'll have a driver pick you up quietly and take you to the Heritage Hills villa. Bringing you to the main Wilder estate would draw way too much attention."
"Sounds good!"
Having locked down their next date, both of their moods instantly lifted, and they reluctantly ended the video call.
Jax had been quietly listening the entire time. "Are you planning on moving in with him?"
Bianca wasn't particularly conservative about these things; physical intimacy usually just happened naturally when the time was right.
It didn't require some grand negotiation.
"I haven't really decided yet. We'll see how things go when I get there," she replied. "He's not the type to force anything. If I'm not ready, he won't push it."
Jax offered a word of caution. "It's best if you hold off on living together for now. Mathis is totally unhinged. If he finds out, he might do something extreme.
Wait until the divorce is officially finalized."
Bianca realized Jax had a point. Not wanting Milo to get his hopes up, she immediately texted him to clarify that she was just visiting, not moving in for a trial run.
Milo's soaring excitement took a nosedive, but he completely understood.
He was willing to wait forever for the woman he loved. "It's totally fine. Just you coming to see me makes me incredibly happy. Sure, I'm a little disappointed, but I can manage."
He was a normal guy with normal physical desires—especially when it came to Bianca.
But holding back was necessary right now.
Bianca tried to comfort him. "Let's just pretend we're a couple back in undergrad."
Milo joked, "You were already a freshman in college when I was still in middle school. Honestly, nobody can keep up with your timeline."
Bianca had tested into Kingsbridge University's Program for Advanced College Entry at fourteen and officially started her undergraduate degree at fifteen. At the time, Milo really had been in middle school.
