Read The Transactional Marriage That Imploded novel Bianca and Mathis Chapter 48 by Ansel Bick
Her phone rang. An unfamiliar number.
Mathis's icy voice came through the receiver. "Bianca, you really outdid yourself, managing to find your grandmother like this. You're getting more and more disobedient."
Bianca handed the phone to a police officer, but the caller immediately hung up.
"I suspect it was Mathis Jagger of Dawnstar Capital who kidnapped my grandmother."
The officer said, "We launched an investigation the moment we received the video data today. There is no evidence suggesting Mathis orchestrated the kidnapping."
Bianca felt a pang of disappointment. Of course. Mathis was always meticulously calculating. Why would he leave any evidence behind?
She couldn't outsmart him.
Meanwhile, the nursing home called to apologize, refunding all of Bianca's payments and refusing to let Mabel stay there any longer.
She didn't even need to guess to know Mathis's hand was behind it.
Mabel was in poor health and needed reliable medical care.
Mathis was waiting for Bianca to cave. He loved having complete control over everything.
His long fingers tapped lightly on his phone. He predicted Bianca would come crawling back to him.
But Bianca had no intention of having anything more to do with him. After careful consideration, she sought out Simon Jennings. "Dr. Jennings, could my grandmother be admitted to your hospital? Mathis is trying to use her to blackmail me, and I'm out of options."
Simon got a brief overview of Mabel's condition, thought for a moment, and made a decision. "I can arrange for her to be admitted, and I'll make sure the hospital keeps it strictly confidential."
Bianca said gratefully, "Thank you! Thank you so much!"
Simon sighed softly. To think Mathis and Bianca had ended up as enemies.
Bianca was such a good person!
Terrified that Mathis might have people watching her, Bianca didn't take her grandmother to the hospital herself. Instead, Simon sent a car in secret to pick her up.
Parting with her grandmother this time, Bianca didn't know when they'd get the chance to see each other again. She couldn't stop the tears from falling.
Cynthia, however, was dissatisfied. "Mathis, didn't you say Bianca would come? I even told Harriet she would."
Mathis replied coldly, "She has to work overtime!"
Cynthia frowned. "But the spiritual advisor said she absolutely had to be here. It's going to be hard to explain to Harriet."
Mathis looked down, lightly adjusting his watch, and said, "If it's hard to explain, then don't explain."
Cynthia didn't dare press the issue. She was terrified Mathis would just walk out in a huff.
No one could ever guess what he was really thinking.
Later, Cynthia strutted triumphantly with her arm through Mathis's. Mathis held their son with one arm, the family of three making their grand entrance in matching attire.
Thanks to Mathis's striking looks, photos of them quickly leaked online that evening.
It seemed someone had intentionally bought trending spots. Rumors began circulating online: The heiress of AuraByte Technologies is about to become the lady of Dawnstar Capital.
