They had spent almost every day and night together for the past month. Of course he knew she

was a woman.

The reason Marcus looked shocked was because he had suddenly remembered something.

“Claire, I told you about this before. I don’t know if you still remember.”

Marcus suddenly turned serious. Claire stopped joking around and nodded.

“You mean…”

“Every year, Grimstone has to send ten females to Valorhenge. And they all have to be Level 2. Claire, Grimstone still hasn’t gathered ten Level 2 women this year.”

As he spoke, Marcus frowned with worry.

Grimstone had already rounded up almost every Level 2 female in the city. When they still couldn’t find enough, they even formed hunting groups and went to nearby tribes to capture

more.

Marcus had heard that one of Finlay’s mates was Level 2. Even she had been locked away by him, waiting to be handed over when the time came.

Finlay had plenty of mates already. He didn’t care how much that female begged. He had no intention of letting her go.

If he could treat his mate like that, how could he possibly spare Claire?

Marcus suddenly grew nervous because of the situation.

Claire remembered it now. Marcus had mentioned the incident before, but she hadn’t taken it too seriously afterward. Still, she had always been careful. Every time she went outside, she disguised herself well. She had never shown anyone the beast marks on her face.

“They probably won’t target me,” Claire said. “I’ve kept my beast marks hidden. Nobody knows I’m Level 2.”

To comfort him, she reached out and gently patted his hand.

Marcus still looked worried, but his tone softened a little. He held her hand back tightly.

“Claire, don’t worry too much. I’ll ask around later. Maybe they’ve already gathered enough

Claire remembered the way Marcus had transformed into a giant panda and beaten people down without mercy. Thinking about it made her feel much safer.

Marcus didn’t continue the topic. Quietly, he made a mental note to talk to Zane later. He wondered if Finlay also planned to offer Claire as a tribute.

Then he smiled.

“Claire, your storage space is incredible! It’s even better than this world. It’s never too hot or too cold. The Beast God must really favor you.”

He had never heard of any female in the Beast World having a storage space before.

Something this strange was rare even among males.

Female beastfolk were usually similar to one another, without many special abilities. But males were different. Every once in a while, an especially gifted male would appear.

Marcus had once heard of a Level 3 beastfolk strong enough to carry an entire island on his back.

Another could turn invisible so completely that even the sharp-eyed eagle clan couldn’t spot him.

Some could even breathe fire.

Male beastfolk always tried to outdo each other to win females over, so over time, many became highly skilled in strange abilities.

Still, this was Marcus’s first time seeing something as magical as a storage space.

Claire nodded.

“When I first got it, I thought it was wonderful too. I acquired the storage space after I fell off a cliff. I was shocked for a long time afterward.”

The reason she had decided to tell Marcus about it was simple. After spending more than a month together, she had realized he was someone she could trust.

Besides, they had children now. They should be honest with each other.

Most importantly, she would need to use the storage space often in the future. It was easier to explain everything now instead of making up excuses every single time.

Thankfully, Marcus accepted it very easily. That made things much simpler.

Claire took out several cans of formula and carefully taught Marcus how to mix it. Even though Marcus couldn’t see, he was extremely sensitive to weight. With one touch, he could tell whether there was too much powder or not enough water.

He learned quickly and soon started feeding the babies like a pro.

With Marcus helping, the two of them fed the babies together. Claire’s workload was cut in half, and before long, every baby was full.

Once fed, sleeping became every baby’s natural talent.

After all the babies had fallen asleep, Marcus finally let out a quiet breath.

Claire looked at him. Even though he was young, he was surprisingly good with children. Despite having so many cubs to care for, he stayed far calmer than Zane and Rufus had been before.

Marcus shifted into his giant panda form and let Claire lie against his soft belly.

It felt even better than one of those luxury mattresses that cost thousands of dollars. His stomach rose and fell gently with each breath, rocking her like a cradle. Claire soon began to grow sleepy.

Just as she was drifting off, she heard Marcus speak softly.

“Claire, can you tell me why you fell off that cliff back then? Just hearing about it makes my chest tighten. It must’ve hurt a lot. I want to know more about your old life.”

Claire became a little more awake. None of it was really a secret. Since he wanted to hear it, she decided to tell him.

So one of them spoke slowly and quietly, while the other listened in silence.
