Claire grinned and wrapped her arms around his lean waist from behind. She pressed herself against his back and followed closely as she nudged him forward a couple of steps.

The moment she interrupted his thoughts, Marcus’s mood instantly brightened.

“Claire, I actually like it when you act like this. I just wonder if you’ll still dare to do it later.”

Usually, Claire only acted bold with her words. She loved teasing him. But whenever Marcus took her seriously and pulled her into his arms, she would surrender right away and look up at him with wide innocent eyes, begging for mercy.

Sure enough, Claire lifted her chin proudly.

“I was born fearless. You know that already.”

And honestly, she was right. Right after arriving in the Beast World, she had climbed a 300-foot cliff with her bare hands. She fought with the chief’s daughter over a mate. Claire looked worried.

“What if Finlay grabs him again and uses him to threaten you?”

“He won’t.” Marcus shook his head. “I arranged for people to escort Bertie to a nearby tribe. Bertie is a Level 3 beastfolk himself, and the guards I sent are strong too. With several of them traveling together, they should be fine.”

Bertie could never return home. Luckily, he had no family left there, so there was nothing to pack up anyway. Sending him to a hidden tribe was the safest choice. That way, Finlay would never find him again.

A Level 3 beastfolk might not be rare in Grimstone, but out in the smaller tribes, someone like Bertie was treated almost like a legend. He would definitely live a safe and comfortable life there.

Claire finally relaxed and nodded.

Marcus might be young, but sometimes even she was amazed by how careful and thoughtful he

was.

Since he had already arranged everything, there probably wouldn’t be any problems.

“Once the cubs finish drinking, I’m putting all of them inside the storage space,” Claire said. “They’ll be safer in there.”

Now that the storage space had unlocked this new feature, she fully intended to make good use of it.
