Chapter 250 Finding Her Brothers

It was hard for a female to travel that far alone-crossing dangerous forests and wide open wildland to make it back to Grimstone.

Eva didn’t even know the way. She’d almost certainly get lost.

By the end, Eva’s voice had gone soft. She missed her brothers. They had always spoiled her the most

Zane suddenly asked, “Are the eight brothers you mentioned rabbit beastfolk? Is the oldest one name Burrow?”

“Yes! Yes!” Eva nearly jumped in place. “You’ve seen them?”

Her excitement surged for a moment, then faded just as quickly. Her brothers should still be in Grims -how could they possibly be out here in the forest?

Claire also looked confused. She patted the silver wolf’s neck.

“Zane, you know Eva’s brothers?”

“Yeah, I think so. I saw them a few days ago. They said they were searching for their mother and younge sister and had been looking for quite a while.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Eva rushed forward and blocked his path, arms spread wide. Her eyes were bright with shock and joy.

“You-are you serious? You actually saw my brothers in the forest?”

“Zane doesn’t lie. His memory is sharp-he wouldn’t mistake it.” Claire said calmly. Then she added, thinking back, “Actually… I might’ve seen them from a distance too. I didn’t look closely, and they left quickly.”

She rubbed her small, rounded chin as she tried to remember.

Now that she thought about it, those beastfolk really did look a bit like Eva.

Eva didn’t wait another second. She ran back to Matilda and quickly told her the news.

Soon after, she brought Matilda over to Claire.

“Claire, can you tell me exactly where you met my eight sons?”

Matilda’s eyes were full of worry.

Zane tilted his head in the direction they had come from.

“Over that way. It’s a pretty long trip, though. Even moving as fast as possible, it would take three or four days”

Matilda quickly followed up, “How were they when you saw them? Were they hurt?

right now!”

Claire quickly stopped them when she saw how easily they made up their minds.

“Eva, just the two of you going isn’t safe. Why don’t we all go together? With my mates, it’ll be much safer.”

She couldn’t just watch her new friend walk into danger.

It would be extra work for Zane and Marcus-but there was no other choice.

She just didn’t know if they were still in that area.

Matilda and Eva didn’t want to trouble her, but Claire insisted again and again until they finally agreed. They even promised to repay her later with beast meat.

So the group turned back the way they had come, only this time they moved much faster.

Claire rode on the silver wolf’s back, leaning low as his body surged forward beneath her. The wind and motion rose and fell like waves.

They had been running at full speed for three days, stopping only a few times to rest briefly.

“Zane, how much farther?” she asked.

“Half a day at most. That’s where we first met Burrow.”

She nodded, then looked toward the rear where Eva and Matilda had already shifted into beast form. Several other female beastfolk ran behind them as well

Marcus followed at the back, carrying the cubs on his back. He was too large to keep up with Zane’s speed. so he stayed in the rear to guard them.

“Got it!” Eva sped up insediately.

“I think I can feel their presence.”

As their mother, she knew their scent well. But it was far away now, and it was mixed with the scents of many other beasts, so she wasn’t sure.
