Davy raised his voice and glanced at him sharply.

“Now isn’t the time for that. Davy, if you reveal your true form, do you think you can scare off the beast swarm?”

A drake has an innate bloodline suppression over ordinary savage beasts. Even beastfolk would feel it to some extent. If it worked, Davy could take his true form and stand at the front of the clan.

It might make him look like a gate guardian, but if it could resolve the crisis without any casualties, it would be worth it.

Davy nodded.

“It should have some effect.”

Zane glanced at the bumps on Davy’s forehead and spoke slowly.

“But if he does that, his identity will be exposed.”

Claire frowned. She had thought of that as well. She had hoped to keep it hidden for as long as possible, but now it seemed there was no perfect solution.

Davy looked down and saw Claire’s conflicted, troubled expression.

He lifted her chin and made her look at him.

“Sweetheart, tell me what to do. I’ll do whatever you say. It doesn’t matter if my true form is exposed. It’s no big deal. You and the younglings come first.”

His gaze dropped to her swollen belly.

Claire nodded and held onto his arm.

“Let’s go talk to Kieran first. If there’s no better way, then you can step in.”
