While Marcus drew the savage beasts’ attention and flung them aside, a drake appeared in the sky, riding the clouds and mist.

Its body was a deep green, its scales shimmering with rainbow light under the sun. It stretched well over a hundred feet long, its agile form twisting through the mist, its tail and four sharp claws trailing in the open. Faint arcs of lightning flickered between the fierce horns on its head.

“A dragon? It’s a dragon! Davy’s beast form is actually a dragon!”

Landon stared at the creature in the sky, his injured arm waving in excitement without him noticing. His eyes were locked on Davy.

“There’s an old story passed down among the elders in the clan about dragon beastfolk. But they vanished long ago. No one has seen one in nearly a hundred years. Claire, your beast mate is a drake!”

Claire smiled and nodded.

Even though this was the second time she had seen Davy in this form, the sight still filled her with awe.

The moment the drake appeared, the savage beasts on the ground slowed down. They raised their heads and stared at the enormous figure in the sky.

Some beasts collapsed to the ground in fear, their legs giving out beneath them. They could not get back up and were quickly trampled into the dirt by the ones behind.

Nearly half of the swarm fell into chaos. They started to run wildly through the swarm.

Those farther away were even more frightened, turning and fleeing outright, throwing the whole scene into disorder.

The once unified surge broke apart. Some turned and ran. Others stumbled around in confusion, while some collapsed on weak legs, tripping the beasts behind them.

A small number of powerful savage beasts, though wary of the drake they had never seen before, still pressed forward and charged straight at it.

A deep, resonant roar, like a bull’s bellow, rumbled from Davy’s throat.

It echoed across the land, halting the advancing beast swarm in its tracks.

The roar was heavy and booming like thunder, echoing across the land and hitting like a blow to the chest.

Even Zane felt his chest tremble, his blood churning. For a moment, an urge to submit rose within him.

Claire turned to look. Many savage beasts had already dropped to their knees. Their bodies shook as they tried to stand, but their legs were too weak to hold them.

“Not bad. It’s working a little.”

Claire watched in relief as Davy swept his tail through the swarm, easily brushing the limp savage beasts aside like fallen leaves.

However, there were still a few unusual beasts within the swarm.

A massive python with the head of an ox suddenly rushed toward Marcus. Two sharp horns gleamed on its head, driving straight toward his chest.

“Marcus, watch out!” Claire cried.

Her voice was swallowed by the chaos.

There were simply too many savage beasts swarming Marcus. His beast form might be rare, but it held no innate bloodline suppression over the others, making him an easy target.

He was already struggling to keep up with the endless waves of attackers. He didn’t notice the ox-python closing in from the side.

Zane hesitated. With his speed, he could reach Marcus in an instant and block the attack.

But Claire was still on his back!

They stood on high ground, but he could not bring himself to leave her there alone.

In that brief moment of hesitation, the ox-python had already closed the distance, its horns about to pierce Marcus’s chest.

Then, in a flash, a figure dove in from the side.

So fast its wings didn’t even seem to move, shooting straight toward Marcus.

Claire only saw a flash. Before she could make out what it was, the figure was already beside Marcus. The ox-python’s horn pierced straight through its wing, pinning it in place.

“Pfft!”

Blood sprayed from his beak.

“Altair!”

Landon’s eyes widened in shock as he shouted.
