The Ultimate Litter: A Beast World System Tale novel Chapter 343

Curiosity stirred within Claire, and she cautiously stepped closer.

The little figure behind the tree turned, peeking back out.

A nine-tailed fox youngling!

Wary of startling it, Claire kept her voice soft.

“Little one, why are you here all alone? Where are your mom and dad?”

The youngling glanced up at the female beastfolk before her and felt an odd swell of delight. She wanted so badly to dash over and let Claire hold her.

She said, “I only have Dad. He went hunting. I snuck out on my own. Shh, don’t tell him.”

If Dad found out, he’d definitely be furious.

Claire watched her scan the surroundings so carefully, nervous and uneasy. She looked equal parts pitiful and adorable.

The youngling’s fur shimmered like glass, catching light with every small movement, reflecting it back even brighter. Sitting obediently behind the tree, she resembled a little angel dropped into the mortal world.

Her frame was round and endearing, her fur smooth and glossy. One glance told anyone she’d been raised with real care.

Claire crouched, meeting her clear, bright eyes.

“But there’s plenty of danger in this forest. Don’t sneak out alone again, all right? Only come out when your dad’s with you.”

The little one lowered her head, looking wronged.

“But all the little animals run off the moment they see Dad. I don’t have any friends left…

Claire couldn’t help feeling for this unfamiliar little fox. Her father was likely a stern, imposing beastfolk. which explained why nothing dared approach.

Her heart melted completely, and she reached out, wanting to gather the little thing into a hug.

But right as her hand extended, the fox yelped, “Oh no!”

“Oh no, Dad’s coming back!”

The little fox darted off nimbly, still calling back over her shoulder, “Pretty lady. I’m Bac! I’ll come play with you next time!”

Then she vanished into the grass in a blur.

Claire stared at the spot where the small figure had disappeared. She was unable to look away, as though she hadn’t gotten enough of the sight
