The ground beneath them was hard granite. That destroyed any thought some beastfolk had about digging an escape tunnel.

Claire’s heart dropped.

It’s bad.

“Someone, hurry and bring food to Boss!”

A short rogue beastfolk yelled loudly.

Soon, a group of beastfolk walked in from another tunnel. Each one carried a giant leaf filled with different kinds of meat.

Every piece was raw and dripping with blood, completely uncooked.

Claire felt sick at the sight. She quickly covered her mouth and gagged.

Sitting high above, Jeffrey lowered his gaze and looked at Claire. Then he raised his hand and pointed at

her.

“Bring her over.”

Before long, Claire was pulled back in front of Jeffrey’s platform.

“Come up!”

His voice gave nothing away.

A rogue beastfolk behind Claire shoved her, forcing her forward onto the steps.

Each step was difficult to climb. Even though her hands and feet were free, the steps were so tall that she had to crawl upward using both hands and feet.

“Females are really weak.”

A tail reached down from above, wrapped around Claire’s thin waist, and lifted her into the air.

Jeffrey leaned lazily against his seat. The chair was covered with unknown fur. He looked human from the waist up, but below that stretched a long snake tail.

react.

The cave became so quiet that even the smallest sound would be heard. Even the females inside the cage stopped crying.

After a long silence, Jeffrey wiped his hand on Claire’s fur tunic, then turned his head away in disgust.

“Get down.”

Claire didn’t want to stay near him for even a second and quickly climbed off the platform.

The rogue beastfolk stared at her with shock, all of them clearly confused.

Their boss was a rogue beastfolk, but he was extremely clean, unlike the others, who were messy and dirty.
