Adam was surprised. “Scarlett, how did you know that?”

They had wandered around for a while. Sure, they saw some townspeople building a house in the west, but nobody had thought much beyond that.

As for harvesting lotus pods or checking with the town committee about other work, they hadn’t even considered it.

Scarlett smiled. “I overheard the townspeople mention it as I passed by.”
