Yvonne glanced at Scarlett, who was standing behind her.

Then she introduced, “This is Scarlett. She’s the actress I recommended for the role of Princess Mona.”

She then introduced Calvert and Willard to Scarlett.

Scarlett gave them a polite nod. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Patton and Mr. Holden.”

Both men already knew who Scarlett was.

Her name had been all over the news lately. It would be hard not to recognize her.

Still, they rarely paid attention to celebrity gossip online, so they didn’t actually know much

about her.

Calvert smiled and said, “Since Ms. Webb recommended you, I’m willing to trust her judgment. I hope you can surprise me.”

To him, Scarlett was still a stranger.

Even though Yvonne had recommended Scarlett, he couldn’t simply give her the role based solely on that favor.

Princess Mona didn’t appear in many scenes, but she was still an important character. The role ranked around the fourth or fifth most important female character.

Princess Mona needed to be incredibly beautiful. More importantly, she had to feel lively and magical, almost like an angel who had stepped into the human world.

Calvert had struggled to find the right actress for the role. Any young actress with the right age and looks was welcome to audition if their agency asked.

By now, dozens of actresses had already auditioned for Princess Mona.

Today’s auditions were mainly for that role.

After speaking, Calvert turned to discuss a few things with the staff.

Yvonne and Willard sat on a nearby couch, talking quietly.

Scarlett listened for a moment. They were discussing ideas and suggestions about the show.

She walked over and sat down as well. While doing so, she glanced briefly at Willard’s right leg.

A moment later, Calvert finished speaking with the staff and asked them to leave.

Soon, only four people remained in the office.

Calvert smiled. “The auditions start at 1:30 p.m.”

That morning, more than twenty actresses had come to audition for Princess Mona, but none of them had impressed him.

There were still thirty minutes left.

Calvert suddenly asked, “Ms. Webb, you mentioned on the phone that you were sick earlier. Are you feeling better now?”

Even though they had never met before, Calvert had already offered Yvonne the female lead in the show. That alone showed how much he trusted her acting ability.

Yvonne didn’t hide anything from Calvert or Willard.

“For the past six years, I was seriously ill,” she said calmly. “So sick that I couldn’t even show my real face. My skin broke out with severe acne. My hair fell out too. Honestly, I looked almost like a ghost.

“I went to the hospital countless times, but no one could figure out what was wrong.” She smiled and glanced at Scarlett. “Later, I met Scarlett. She helped treat me. Look, my skin still has a few marks left, but they should fade in ten days or so. It won’t affect filming.”

She didn’t tell the two of them that she had been poisoned or that someone might have tried to harm her.

The truth hadn’t been fully investigated yet, so there was no reason to bring it up. Saying she had been seriously ill was enough.

Even so, both men were shocked to hear how badly she had suffered.

Willard and Calvert looked at her with sympathy.

“I’m just glad you recovered,” Calvert said. “Focus on acting from now on. I remember you once said there are still many types of roles you want to try. Acting is what you were meant to do.”

For someone who truly loved acting, forty was still a wonderful age.

Yvonne smiled. “I will.”

She felt very lucky to have met Scarlett.

If she ever had the chance, she would do her best to help Scarlett get the best opportunities.

Calvert then looked at Scarlett and said with a friendly smile, “I didn’t expect someone so young to have such impressive medical skills.”

He knew Scarlett’s name because she appeared on trending news often. But he had never paid much attention and had no idea she was this skilled in medicine.

Willard didn’t say anything. But while looking at Scarlett, he unconsciously pressed his right leg.

Scarlett smiled. “When I was young, I learned from my grandfather,” she said. “I picked up some traditional medicine from him.”

As she spoke, she looked at Willard. “Mr. Holden, is your leg bothering you?”

Willard paused in surprise.

“You can tell my leg hurts?”

Scarlett nodded. “It looks like knee osteoarthritis or bad knees. Cold weather can worsen it. Medicine and heat therapy can ease the pain, but it’s hard to cure completely.”

Willard looked impressed.

She was right. His bad knees came from years of filming action scenes when he was younger.

Almost no one knew about it. Not even his friends. Only his manager knew.

And his manager never discussed his private life, so there was no way outsiders could know.

It wasn’t a serious illness, but it was very annoying. When the pain came, it could be quite uncomfortable.

And it happened often. Even though it wasn’t a big problem, the pain was still hard to deal with.
