Chapter 33 After the Cameras Turn Off
StrawberryBear and the stray animal rescue group were practically living in Scarlett’s livestream just to watch Blackie.
Seeing Blackie looking better and healthier every day made them feel a lot better.

Most of the time, they just watched Scarlett hustling hard and absolutely crushing it at food delivery.
Almost everyone in the group became her fans.
As for the other guests….
Selina, Nelson, and Adam worked pretty hard.
They didn’t make a lot, but each person still earned around 100 or 200 a day.

total.
For the last three days, they didn’t even have enough money for daily expenses.
They had to survive on plain bread.
Eventually, Zayden couldn’t stand the bread anymore, so he bought some cheap veggies and cooked noodles.
He was very patient with Brianna.
He cooked every meal and brought it to her, not letting her do

housework.
This actually made a lot of fans change their minds about him.
People said he treated his girlfriend really well.
Many fans said they were totally shipping them.
It was Friday, and the livestream ended at 5 p.m.
The show wouldn’t start up again until next Monday.
Once the cameras were off, everyone packed their bags and left.
Scarlett took Blackie and went home.

She had already bought everything Blackie needed over the past two days–a cat bed, cat food, and litter.
Once they got home, she got Blackie settled in.
There wasn’t much to settle. It just meant living together in that big, empty villa filled with dark energy and death energy.
The villa still had that dark energy and death energy, but it didn’t affect animals.
Just as Scarlett finished settling Blackie in, her phone rang.
It was an unknown number. When she answered, she heard Matthew’s voice.
“Scarlett, how long are you planning to keep this up?”
Scarlett’s face stayed cold. She didn’t say anything.
Matthew kept going, “I know you’re back from the show. Get home right now. That place isn’t somewhere you should live. I already checked—people died in that villa. Everyone who lived there after had bad luck. Come back now.”
“No,” Scarlett said, her voice cold as ice.
Matthew lost his mind.
“Scarlett, are you trying to rebel? Do you want me to stop paying for your mother’s hospital and rehab bills?”
Daphne was staying at Brookriver Rehabilitation Hospital. Every month, the medical bills, rehab fees, and medicine cost around 200,000.
Scarlett didn’t hesitate. She hung up.
Seeing that she’d hung up on him, Matthew got so angry his face turned red and his blood pressure shot up.
“Look at her, just look at that disrespectful girl! She doesn’t listen at all. I said I’d stop paying for her mom’s rehab, and she still didn’t care! Why can’t she be like Hazel? Hazel is so well- behaved. Scarlett actually aired our dirty laundry on that show and got everyone to bully Hazel. She’s so mean for such a young girl. I have no idea who she learned this from!”
Matthew was furious.
He didn’t even want to deal with his eldest daughter.
But his wife was worried and said, “Scarlett is fine while she’s filming, but she shouldn’t be

staying in that haunted house on the weekends. I only found out from the show a few days ago that she’s living there. That won’t do. Honey, call her and tell her to come home.”
He didn’t want to make the call, but Leona begged him for a long time.
Only then did he finally call.
He had planned to talk calmly with Scarlett.
But he didn’t expect Scarlett to be just as stubborn as her mom.
That’s when he lost control and blurted out the threat about stopping Daphne’s rehab
payments.
He never expected Scarlett to hang up on him right away.
Thinking about his ex–wife, Matthew’s expression darkened. A flash of guilt crossed his eyes.
Leona frowned.
She didn’t expect that even after Matthew said something like cutting off that woman’s rehab money, Scarlett still refused to come home.
Didn’t Scarlett love her mom more than anything?
Things were starting to slip out of her control, and Leona hated that feeling.
After hanging up, Scarlett called her stepfather, Hendrix.
“Scarlett, what’s up?” Hendrix sounded so happy to hear from her. “How’s the city? Do you want to come back home for a couple of days?”
Scarlett softened her voice. “I want to take Mom home tomorrow. Keeping her at Brookriver Rehabilitation Hospital doesn’t really help.”
She had no intention of leaving her mother there anymore.
In her last life, even until she died, her mother never woke up. She only got weaker.
Staying there was pointless. It would be better to take her back home so she could be with Hendrix.
She knew how much he missed Daphne.
And she needed to go back anyway.

Something was going to happen at home today, and she had to find out what happened back then.
“Scarlett, do you mean it?”
Hendrix’s voice turned cautious. “Is that really okay? At least in the hospital, there’s a tiny bit of hope…”
Deep down, he missed his wife terribly.
