Chapter 349 Beyond Ordinary Limits.
Scarlett listened.
Vivian sat nearby, hanging on every word.
She knew Nala’s story by heart, but hearing it again never got old.
Warren continued.

“From two months on, Nala was in a league of her own. She memorized every command on the first attempt. Calling her a canine genius wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
“Even among police dog candidates, most wash out. Maybe one in ten makes the cut. Trainees usually start active duty after they turn 1 year old or 18 months old. Nala mastered everything by three months, but regulations meant she still had to wait until she turned one.
“After that, she distinguished herself on case after case. Her nose was extraordinary— instrumental in solving numerous investigations.”
Nala wasn’t just any police dog. She was decorated.
She was too good.
In all his years, Warren had never seen a dog this exceptional.
That was exactly why the higher–ups had been so reluctant to give up on her. Three months after the explosion, and they were still hoping someone could fix her, still hoping she could
stay.
When every option was exhausted, retirement became the only choice left.
And the unit knew it would be a devastating loss–not just operationally, but for Nala herself.
She loved her work. They worried about what retirement would do to her psychologically.
Scarlett waited until Warren finished, then explained. “Nala really is different from other dogs. It’s not just her intelligence–her five senses are far superior, especially her sense of smell. That’s why she’s so effective.
“But that same extraordinary sensitivity is exactly why she lost it. The explosion likely damaged and blocked the meridians around her nasal cavity. Needle therapy was the ideal treatment.”
She’d detected the abnormality through bone reading–the same technique she used on people.

Human or animal, it didn’t matter.
Both had prodigies and duds.
Bone reading could tell you which.
:.
Nala’s condition was essentially a blockage caused by the blast’s stimulation and debris.
A regular police dog might have weathered it differently.
But Nala’s sense of smell was so overdeveloped that the blockage shut it down entirely.
The needle therapy cleared the obstruction.

Her sense of smell was already bouncing back, and within three days, it would return to full strength.
Better yet, between the needle therapy and the spiritual essence-
Nala’s intelligence would sharpen even further, and all five senses would become keener than before.
The Efrons gaped.
That was the reason?
Not quite pathological, not quite normal.
Her nose was too good, which paradoxically made her vulnerable to losing it.
If Scarlett hadn’t happened to come through on this case and stumble across Nala, retirement really would’ve been the only road left.
‘Scarlett looked at Warren. “Mr. Efron, could you report this to your superiors? And I’d like to formally request permission to borrow Nala for tracking. This case involves a missing child. Our captain has already linked up with your local station, and we’re all hoping to find her as quickly as possible.”
Scarlett had cured Nala.
Warren would have done anything to help.
He called his captain immediately. “Sir, Nala’s sense of smell is back! Ms. Sanchez is amazing- one session of needle therapy and it came right back!
“She says two more sessions will lock it in. Also, Nala’s senses are apparently far superior to those of other dogs–she’ll only get better from here. And Ms. Sanchez is requesting to borrow
