Emmett had come out of it a little.
Scarlett nodded and didn’t say anything more. She walked back over to her assistant.

Maggie’s eyes were red when she saw her, and Ivy looked exactly the same. Both of them looked on the verge of tears.
Scarlett teased them. “Why are you two crying?”
Maggie rubbed her eyes. “It was seeing Princess Mona lying there in the blood. And when she closed her eyes, I just wanted to cry. It felt like she knew everything. I just think Princess Mona was so tragic. She came here as a hostage, and in the end, she died with the silent consent of the person she loved.”
Ivy nodded too. She was still young and didn’t understand love and heartbreak, but seeing Mona had made her sad anyway.
Scarlett said, “Maybe that was Mona’s own choice.”
She had met Mona in that era. As a hostage and a great beauty, even if she hadn’t died, her fate probably wouldn’t have been much better.
Mona really had been pure and gentle, almost like a spirit, but there had also been a quiet melancholy in her.
In the end, even her death had been something she had silently accepted.
Yvonne and Willard came over too. Yvonne gave Scarlett a thumbs–up. “Scarlett, that was excellent.”
And it was far more than excellent. It was stunning. Scarlett clearly hadn’t done much acting before, yet that scene had been stronger than what many veteran performers could deliver.
Part of it was her technical skill, but even more than that, she had completely entered the role.
Many actors could never truly step into a character. But only by really becoming that character could they feel the role’s joy, anger, sorrow, and grief. Only then could they truly bring the character to life.
Yvonne suddenly thought of Scarlett’s sheath dress commercial from a while back, the one where she had played three roles by herself. No wonder so many people had become fans of hers.
Once this drama aired, Scarlett would gain even more. But that was exactly what she deserved. She was the kind of person people naturally wanted to love.
That scene had counted as a one–take pass for Scarlett.
There were still several scenes to film that evening, but none of them had much to do with her.
One of them was Ivy’s, so Scarlett stayed on set until night.
When it was Ivy’s turn, she had several NGs in a row. For Ivy, this really was her first time acting.

But for Scarlett, it wasn’t. In one of the worlds she had lived through, she had been an actress herself. That was why her acting was as strong as it was.
Scarlett went over and guided Ivy once. Ivy was clever, and after that, things went much more smoothly.
Once filming was done, they all removed their makeup and went back to the hotel together.
The next morning, the two of them had a scene to shoot. Their scenes were scheduled for around ten o’clock.
After breakfast at the hotel around nine, Scarlett and Ivy strolled over to the set. Maggie and Nathan naturally came along too.
But on the way downstairs, they ran into Lavender again. She was wearing casual clothes, a mask, and sunglasses, with her manager by her side.
Even wrapped up like that, Scarlett recognized her at a glance.
Scarlett swept a glance over her and, as usual, said nothing. But her eyes dropped to a spot near Lavender’s feet and paused there for two or three seconds before moving away.
Lavender noticed Scarlett too, and at the sight of Scarlett’s face, she bit her lip in resentment.
Why was Scarlett’s skin so perfect while hers had broken out like this?
The middle–aged man beside her noticed Scarlett too. There was a flash of admiration in his eyes.
He was Lavender’s manager, Lachman Greer.
Watching Scarlett walk away, he thought to himself that with a face like hers, she was practically born to live off the entertainment industry.
And despite the terrible reputation she used to have, she had still managed to turn things around. That really was something.
As if remembering something, Lachman turned to Lavender and said, “Tell me, why did you have to go pick a fight with Scarlett? Isn’t her medical skill supposed to be pretty good? She even treats people during her livestreams every month without fail. If you hadn’t offended her, maybe you could’ve asked her to take a look at whatever’s going on with your skin.”
It was only later that Lachman had learned his artist had gone and provoked Scarlett again on the day of the Princess Mona audition.
He had managed Lavender for three years and more or less knew what kind of person she was.
