The siblings knew they couldn’t keep this a secret.
So when they got home, they told Hendrix everything that happened by the river.

When Hendrix heard that Luke had accused Rory, his face went dark. But after he heard the whole story, he finally felt relieved.
Scarlett didn’t have anything else to do, so she taught Rory that set of moves.
She watched him closely.
If any move was wrong, she fixed it right away.
After half an hour, Rory was collapsed in a chair, soaked in sweat.
Scarlett said, “That’s enough, Rory. We’ll keep going tonight. Try to memorize all the moves in the next couple of days.”
Rory looked completely miserable.
Scarlett added, “If you master this set, forget one Luke–even a hundred Lukes couldn’t beat you.”

Every guy has a martial arts dream deep down.
He was no different.
Just before dinner, Howell came over with his little grandson, Sunny Stephenson.
Sunny was a little over five years old. He was short, skinny, and pale, with a faint grayish tint.
Scarlett knew right away that this was a classic case of weak digestion.
When a kid has a weak stomach, they don’t want to eat. If you force them to eat meat or heavy food, it just sits in their stomach and doesn’t digest well. That leads to heat in the lungs and coughing. It’s a bad cycle. You’ve got to fix the first.

Howell said with a sigh, “Hendrix, I heard from Scarlett that you know traditional medicine. Can you take a look at Sunny? He just got shots at the hospital half a month ago, and now he’s coughing again.”
Hendrix glanced at Scarlett.

He knew what she was doing–helping him look good in front of the townspeople so he could open a clinic in the future.
Hendrix checked Sunny’s pulse and listed all of Sunny’s symptoms.
Howell nodded quickly. “Yes, yes, that’s right.”
At first, he wanted to bring Sunny over, but his wife and daughter–in–law were against it. He insisted anyway. Since Patrick was a great doctor, Hendrix probably picked up some of those skills, too.
Hendrix wrote a prescription and was about to ask Howell to go to the herb shop to get the herbs.
But Scarlett said, “Howell, you should take Sunny home first. We’ll need to pick up these herbs from the shop in town. And the herbal remedies are bitter–Sunny probably won’t take them. I’ll have my dad turn it into tablets so it’s easier to swallow. I’ll drop them off at your house tonight.”

Howell smiled. “That’s a great idea. Thanks for being so thoughtful.”
After Howell left with Sunny, Scarlett helped Hendrix add a few more herbs to the prescription.
Hendrix was surprised.
He had studied on his own for over ten years, so he knew those extra herbs made the formula gentler, better for kids, and more effective.
It was the perfect finishing touch.
Scarlett said, “I’ll go to town to get the herbs. I’ll be back soon and turn them into tablets.”
Kids don’t like drinking herbal remedies, tablets were more suitable.
Hendrix agreed.
The herb shop in town wasn’t far. It took about ten minutes on a small electric scooter.
Scarlett got the herbs and came back to prepare the medicine.
She even used water from the well.
She also told Hendrix, “From now on, only use water from the well. Use well water to cook the herbal remedies too. Well water has earth energy. It makes the medicine work better.”
Hendrix nodded.

Traditional medicine does need that earth energy.
Sometimes, even the water you use matters.
Watching Scarlett move quickly and smoothly while making the medicine, Hendrix finally realized how skilled she was–maybe even better than him.
After the herbal tablets were done, Scarlett had dinner, and then took the medicine to Howell’s place.
She handed him a bottle.
“Howell, this is for 49 days, four treatment rounds. It treats Sunny’s weak digestion and slowly strengthens his body. Once his immunity gets better, he won’t get sick so easily. We’re doing four rounds because the daily dose is small. He’s a kid, so the medicine can’t be too strong. Slow and gentle works best.”
Howell took the bottle, smiling. “Thank you, Scarlett. How much is it?”
Scarlett said, “It’s 235 in total. 10 for the consultation, and 225 for the herbal tablets.”
That meant they only made around 30 dollars.
It was very cheap.
Howell went inside, got the money, and handed it to Scarlett.
His wife, Alice Stephenson, didn’t look happy. She muttered in the yard, “Who knows what kind of medicine this is? What if it makes Sunny worse…”
“Enough,” Howell said with a frown.
He and Patrick had been friends for decades. Seeing the Sanchezes like this, he wanted to help.
Actually, he wasn’t 100% sure about Hendrix’s skills. But if Sunny really got better, it would prove Hendrix knew what he was doing. Then he could carry on Patrick’s work, and the people here would have a place to go when they got sick.
