The Ultimate Reborn Heiress (Scarlett) novel Chapter 5

Chapter 5 She’s Crazy

After the agent was gone, Scarlett pulled her suitcase into the villa.

The house was enormous–two floors and a basement, around 2,200 square feet. The yard was nearly the same size.

Being there by herself made it feel empty.

As soon as she opened the door, a chill swept over her.

With so much dark energy and death energy, it made sense that no one wanted to live there. A normal person moving in would be courting trouble.

Scarlett didn’t have many things. She chose a guest room on the first floor and got settled.

After that, she sat on the bed and slipped off the chain on her neck, exposing the bead hanging from it.

It looked plain–around 0.4 inches wide, crystal clear, with no impurities at all. There was a small hole through the middle. It didn’t really look like a crystal, more like a glass bead.

She’d found it when she was seven or eight while digging through a wooden box.

By then, Daphne was already vegetative. Hendrix had said the box belonged to Patrick–an heirloom passed down in the Sanchezes.

She liked the crystal bead, threaded it onto a chain, and wore it every day after that.

If not for what happened in her previous life, she never would’ve known it hid a secret.

After thinking for a bit, Scarlett bit her middle finger and let a drop of blood fall onto the crystal bead.

Blood from the middle finger carried pure vital energy, like blood from the tongue tip or the heart–essence blood.

As soon as the blood touched it, the bead absorbed it.

Scarlett felt lightheaded. Then she sensed something new inside her consciousness.

It was just as she’d guessed.

She’d once lived in a cultivation world. This crystal bead was similar to an immortal cultivator’s inner world. That was a place filled with abundant spiritual energy.

This crystal bead, though, held a bottomless pool of spiritual essence.

Its spiritual essence was a liquid form of spiritual energy–far cleaner and more powerful.

It couldn’t quite bring the dead back to life or regrow bones, but it could nourish humans, animals, and plants.

The chain and crystal bead vanished from her hand, accepting her as their master. They settled in her consciousness, spiritual essence continuously welling up inside.

A faint smile finally showed on Scarlett’s face.

This world barely had any spiritual energy. With this supply, reaching Grandmaster Stage would be hard, but Void Stage was still within reach.

She remembered Hazel saying the bead only made one drop a day.

They’d never really unlocked it.

The villa was spotless. There was nothing to clean.

Scarlett found a mirror, took off her bandage, and looked at the wound on her face.

The cut ran from her cheekbone to her chin. It was stitched, but it looked awful–deep enough to show bone. Even with modern medicine and cosmetic surgery, there was no way it wouldn’t leave a scar.

But she could handle it.

She knew more than most people. She’d mastered both traditional and modern medicine.

Those skills came from other worlds, earned through endless nights and nonstop effort.

There were no shortcuts to success, only day after day of hard work.

She also held many ancient prescriptions long lost to modern times.

She was worried the scar–removal cream wouldn’t fully activate with the herbs available now.
