The Ultimate Reborn Heiress (Scarlett) novel Chapter 6

[Can Scarlett just get out of the entertainment industry? She’s disgusting. She’ll do anything for attention. What does she even mean by “watch out for backlash“? Does she think it’s some illegal lucky charm or something?]

[Yeah, she’s ridiculous. She just blurts things out. Doesn’t she know superstition isn’t acceptable?]

[Honestly, though, I don’t get why Zayden is so famous. I don’t see any real acting skills in that movie.]

[Shut up, Scarlett’s fans! Get lost!]

[I heard from entertainment reporters that she had gauze on her face. Did she get disfigured? Is that why she’s freaking out and trying to drag Zayden down with her?]

Those comments were nothing compared to the countless vicious messages telling her to die.

Scarlett skimmed a few, then closed the app, completely unfazed.

She’d been busy all morning and had taken in some spiritual essence.

Now she was so hungry that she felt like she could eat ten cows!

She decided to cook. She also planned to visit Daphne at the rehabilitation hospital that afternoon.

She missed her mother, her stepfather, and her younger brother.

The villa had a fully equipped kitchen.

Scarlett made barbecue ribs, pickled potato salad, and tomato soup. They were simple, home- style dishes, but the smell alone made her mouth watery.

In another world, she’d even worked as a chef and earned a “God of Cooking” title.

With her skills, even basic ingredients tasted incredible, especially after adding diluted spiritual essence.

This villa sat in the city center, where space was tight. Villas were built close together, and the aroma drifted into nearby homes.

“What smells so good?”

“That food smells amazing!”

“Did someone hire a new chef? Which neighbor is it?”

They had no idea they’d be smelling it often from now on.

Just as Scarlett was about to eat, her phone rang.

It was her agent, Maggie Gray, a recent college graduate.

When Scarlett first debuted, her looks impressed the company so much that they assigned her a top–tier agent.

But after she ruined her chances, that experienced agent was replaced with Maggie, a rookie.

Maggie’s voice trembled over the call. “Scarlett, did … did you post on Instagram yourself? The one cursing Zayden?”

“I did.”

On the other end, Maggie went pale, completely stunned.

“Scarlett! Why would you go after Zayden on Instagram? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Mr. Joyner is furious! He told me to drag you back to the office and take your Instagram password. From now on, the company will run your account!”

Maggie was close to tears.

Cursing people online? Scarlett’s behavior scared her half to death.

She’d gone pale when she saw the post. When her superior, Cedric Joyner, stormed in, she could tell he was about to lose it.

Hearing the panic in Maggie’s voice, Scarlett smiled. “Don’t worry. I’m fine. Tell Mr. Joyner I’m not coming today. I’m eating. And tell him not to call–I won’t answer. I’ll deal with this myself.”

She wanted things to blow up a bit more before she showed her evidence.

She hung up and finally sat down to eat.

The barbecue ribs were rich, the pickled potato salad crisp and refreshing, and the tomato soup smooth and comforting.
