Chapter 76 Trouble at the Zoo
[Hahaha, that’s so sneak.]
Soon, the group arrived at the zoo.
Maswein Forest Zoo was not very big, but it looked clean from the outside. Trees and greenery surrounded the place.

Inside, the entrance was simple. There was a ticket hall, a small rest area, and a few buildings for staff.
It was summer vacation, so there were still some visitors.
Most were parents bringing their kids to see the animals.
Tickets were cheap–about 40 dollars for adults.
Children under four feet three inches tall paid half.
The guests got off the bus and walked in.
A few families were already strolling around.
Michael said, “Since we just got here, there’s no rush to draw jobs yet. Let’s walk around first and look at the animals.”
That way,
the livestream viewers could also see the zoo and pay more attention to it.
The guests split up.
Each had a crew with them.
Scarlett walked around on her own.
She quickly noticed that there were very few visitors. The owner clearly was not making much money.
Still, the owner seemed kind. The animals were well cared for. There were many staff, the grounds were clean, and the animals looked healthy–not too thin, not too fat.
Scarlett saw many animals, but most of them barely moved. They looked tired and low on energy.
In the garden area, several monkeys were jumping around. They even bothered visitors.
Scarlett saw one monkey suddenly dash out from a corner and grab a hotdog from a child’s hand.
The child was a little girl, about five or six years old.
She looked down and saw the hotdog was gone.
The girl burst into tears.
Her parents were upset and muttered a few angry words.

In the end, they held her hand and went to buy another hotdog.
Scarlett had already started to form a plan in her mind.
These monkeys were a problem. They needed to be dealt with.
She stopped a zoo worker and asked, “Sir, do these monkeys come down from the mountain?”
The zoo backed up against a forest.
These monkeys were not locked inside enclosures, so they likely came from the woods.
The old man nodded, looking helpless.
“Yes. Those little troublemakers came down from the mountain. We can’t control them. Some of them love stealing food from kids. If you hit one, it runs back up the mountain to complain to the Monkey King. Then the Monkey King comes down and beats people.
“The Monkey King is big and strong. Before, when monkeys ran back to complain, he had come down and attacked visitors.
[Wow, those monkeys are awful.]
[No wonder that viewer yesterday was so angry.]
[Honestly, monkeys that steal things are the worst. This reminds me of my trip before; one stole my phone.]
[What is the zoo doing? Why don’t they manage this?]
Scarlett also thought the monkeys were terrible.
She decided to finish checking around the place and talked to the zoo owner.
As she walked on, she ran into Selina.
Selina happily linked arms with her. “Scarlett! That’s great; I found you. Let’s walk together. Which area are you going to?”
“I still haven’t seen the tiger,” Scarlett said. “I heard the tiger here looks pretty fierce.”
“Then let’s go together,” Selina said.
They followed the path toward the tiger area.
Halfway there, they saw a man running around in a panic, asking everyone questions.
“Have you seen my son?” he said anxiously. “I just went to the restroom and told him to wait outside. When I came back, he was gone. He’s about eight or nine, comes up to my chest, and is wearing … wearing … oh no, I forgot what he wore today. Have you seen a kid about this tall?”
People shook their heads. “No, we haven’t seen him.”

Someone scolded the man. “Why didn’t you take your kid into the restroom with you? Why leave him alone?”
