The Unwavering Heart That Broke novel Chapter 123

“We can give it a shot,” Damaris said.

“Alright,” Nathalie replied.

Damaris went on, “Remember what you told me about your grandmother’s sapphire earrings? The ones that disappeared years ago during all that chaos? She’s been looking for them ever since. I’ve been watching the big auction houses and just found a pair that looks almost identical. I’ll send you a photo—see if you think they’re hers.”

Nathalie’s eyes sparkled immediately. “Send it to me.”

One look at the picture and she was sure. It was them.

After Felice joined the Blair family, Nathalie spent a lot more time at her grandmother’s place. Her grandma used to hold her, tell her stories, and let her admire her collection of antiques. Every time they looked at the photo of those earrings, her grandma would sigh. The earrings were a love token from her grandfather.

They had been lost for years. Her grandmother never stopped searching and never stopped regretting their loss.

Nathalie messaged Damaris, “That’s them. Which auction house has them? When is the auction?”

“I’ll send you the details,” Damaris replied.

“Thank you.”

Nathalie read over the information. The auction was in three days. The money from selling the wedding ring would show up by then, and together with what she’d gotten from Daniel and Lance, she should finally have enough to buy those earrings.

After work, she went home, freshened up, and headed out to meet Fabian.

Inside the restaurant, Fabian looked surprised. “I thought you were putting the divorce on hold.”

Nathalie gave a tired smile. “Things changed again. I realized filing directly might work better. Do you have time to help, or should I look for someone else?”

Fabian grinned. “I’ve got time. I’ll get things started. Just wait for my call.”

She smiled back at him. “Thanks, Fabian.”

He waved it off. “No need to thank me. We’re friends, aren’t we? Honestly, I hate to see you trapped in a marriage that’s draining everything out of you.”

Nathalie sighed. “You make it sound so bleak.”

She was out to dinner with Jasper. The moment she saw Lance, she called out, “Lance, are you by yourself? Want to join us?”

Jasper reached out his arms. “Lance, pick me up.”

Lance’s expression softened as soon as he looked at the little boy. He scooped Jasper up. “Why are you eating so late tonight?”

Felice shrugged. “I got home late, so I figured I’d make it up to Jasper with a good meal.”

Jasper’s eyes lit up. “A big dinner!”

Felice turned to the waiter. “Can we get a private room? There’ll be three of us.”

“Of course,” said the waiter.

Lance glanced at them and said, “Let’s just sit in the main dining room.”

Holding Jasper, he walked over to an open table in the busy hall.
