The Unwavering Heart That Broke novel Chapter 157

One Felice was enough to give Addis a headache. Now, if Nathalie started giving him trouble too, he might as well just shut down the whole studio.

But Addis really valued Nathalie’s work. There was no way he’d let her go, no matter what.

Nathalie hesitated for a second, then rubbed her nose. “It’s not that serious.”

Addis frowned. “If you take time off, it is that serious.”

“Alright, alright, I give in. I’m coming to work right now.” Nathalie caved.

She’d finish this job first, then worry about her own stuff.

Addis finally relaxed. His tone softened. “Okay, just get here safe.”

As soon as she hung up, Nathalie looked at Damaris and shrugged. “Guess I’m not going anywhere for a while.”

Damaris yawned. “Go on to work. I’m going back to bed.”

“Yeah,” Nathalie said.

She got up to get ready, and as she opened the door to leave, she nearly crashed into the man waiting right outside.

Lance stood there, looking grim. His eyes were fixed on her, dark and stormy.

Nathalie’s heart jumped. She glared at him. “How did you even know I was here? Didn’t you say you weren’t following me?”

“So what if I was?” Lance’s voice was low. “After what you’ve done, following you is nothing.”

Nathalie’s face turned cold. “What, are you not happy now?”

“Nathalie!” he snapped.

A muscle jumped in his jaw. He grabbed her wrist and yanked her close.

“You sent another woman to me and still have the guts to ask if I’m happy? I’m your husband. I’m the one who married you. How could you treat me like this?” Lance’s whole chest heaved with emotion he couldn’t hide: anger, disbelief, hurt.

Looking into her calm eyes only made him more furious.

His grip on her wrist was tight. Nathalie winced. “Let go. You’re hurting me.”

“Oh, so you know what pain feels like?” Lance shot back, his voice icy. “How could you?”
