The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 282

Nathalie shot Leda a sarcastic look. “You really deserve an award for that performance.”

With that, she sank into an armchair and turned her attention to Lance, sitting back like she was ready for a show.

Leda’s expression turned sour. “You have no manners. How dare you talk to me like that?”

“Grandma.” Lance’s voice was low and serious, his usually handsome face shadowed in anger. “I’ve already looked into everything. I know exactly what you did.”

Leda’s eyes darted away for a split second, but she kept up her defiant front. “What’s that supposed to mean, Lance? Your wife disrespects me and you’re okay with it?”

Lance stared at her, his eyes cold. “You went behind everyone’s back to make trouble for Gavin, pushed him to the edge, and then played the hero. You handed him money to get him to go along with your plan to deal with Nathalie.”

He paused, taking a slow breath. “I’ve always respected you, Grandma, but how could you stoop so low?”

Leda's lips trembled in shock. This wasn’t pretend anger anymore. “You ungrateful child. How dare you talk to me like that? Do I even matter to you, or am I just some old woman now?”

She shot a fierce glance at Susan, blaming her for messing up and leaving her to take the fall.

Trying to recover, Leda took another breath. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, Lance. You say you’ve got proof… but did you actually see me tell Susan to do any of this?”

She was never going to admit it, not in a million years.

Lance watched Leda’s coughing, his voice calm but firm. “Grandma, it’s clear this place is doing nothing for your health. I’ll get a plane ready and have you sent to the estate abroad. You can stay there from now on. I’ll also have your shares handled by my people, and as for the houses and funds, they’ll be transferred to Nathalie. Consider it compensation. You don’t need any of that at your age. I’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.”

Leda stopped coughing, her eyes wide with shock. “You wouldn’t dare!”

Lance’s words were like ice. “Watch me.”

Now Leda was honestly furious. She pointed at him, ready to explode, but before she could say anything, she clutched her chest, her face twisting in pain.

“Leda!” Susan saw what was happening and jumped up, rushing over to help her.
