The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 285

Around lunchtime, Fabian called her, his voice full of shock and excitement. “Nathalie, when did you get hooked up with such a powerhouse legal team? The moment they talked to my people, they picked out every single weakness in our case. Our odds just shot up from thirty percent to eighty.”

Nathalie could hear the relief in his voice, and it made her smile wider. “Are you serious right now?”

“Why would I make this up? Come on, tell me already, where did you find these people?” Fabian’s curiosity was obvious, but underneath it, she caught a touch of unease. Since when did Nathalie have someone this skilled in her corner?

She just laughed. “They’re from my grandmother’s side.”

Fabian sounded relieved. “Makes sense now. With them backing you, our chances are way higher. We might actually have a shot this time.”

Nathalie leaned back and asked, “So why haven’t we heard anything yet? When’s the court date?”

He replied, “Usually takes a couple weeks after mediation. Should be any day now.”

“Alright.”

There was a steady, unwavering look in Nathalie’s eyes. She was more than ready for this divorce. Nothing was going to stop her this time.

When work ended for the day, she headed straight to the hospital. As soon as she walked in, she saw Camilla sitting there again.

Nathalie didn’t bother being polite. “You can go. You’re not needed here. I already hired a caregiver for Grandma.”

Camilla looked like she hadn’t slept for days. Her cheeks were pale, and her eyes were hollow.

She looked at Nathalie and, all of a sudden, started crying.

Adelaide, who saw everything from her chair, frowned. “Really, what are you crying about this time?”

Between shaky sobs, Camilla managed to say, “Mom, you gave birth to me. Why couldn’t you take care of me too? I’m your only daughter, right? Why won’t you give me just this one thing I’ve asked for?”

“I’ll buy them!” Camilla blurted out, shoulders tensed. “You just tell me how much.”

Nathalie almost laughed, shaking her head a little. “You’re serious about buying them?”

Camilla wiped her tears and nodded again. “Yes, just name your price.”

Nathalie let the silence hang in the air for a moment, then said, “I want all the shares from Blair Group.”

Camilla jumped to her feet, eyes wide. “Are you out of your mind? If you take those shares, what happens to me and dad? Do you want us left with nothing?”

Nathalie just blinked, looking perfectly innocent. “If you can’t afford it, just say so. No need to yell at me, Camilla. After all, you asked me to name my price.”

“You’re practically robbing us!” Camilla shouted, her voice rising. “Robbing your own family! Do you have any idea how cruel you’re being?”
