The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 321

A photo of a young man was set into the tombstone. His features were sharp and intense, and something about his eyes and brows looked just a bit like Lance. His gaze seemed alive, looking straight ahead as if no distance could stop him.

Nathalie laid the bouquet of flowers gently in front of the grave. After bowing three times, she spoke quietly, Jackson, I came to see you.

People nearby glanced her way, but one look, in particular, weighed heavilyalmost impossible to ignore.

Madonna squeezed Nathalie’s hand, her voice shaky with the hint of fresh tears. Sweetheart, don’t go back tonight. Stay, have dinner with us.”

Nathalie looked down, silent, but she didn’t resist.

They stayed there a while longer before finally turning away from the cemetery.

A car waited outside. Madonna kept hold of Nathalie’s hand, drawing her into the same car with her.

Lance tried to climb in, but Madonna stopped him. Nathalie and I need to talk. You ride in the other car.

There were two vehicles. Felice had already settled into the second one.

Lance’s straight brows pulled together as he stared at Nathalie, his deep, dark eyes fixed on her, never wavering since the moment she got there.

But not once did she look back at him.

His face grew colder as he pulled open the front passenger door and said lightly, What’s there that I can’t hear?

Madonna frowned. You little rascal. We need some girl talk. You want to sit in on that?

Chapter 321

I do,Lance replied.

Madonna just stared, words stuck in her throat.

Everyone got in, and the driver headed off toward The Adams Estate.

Nathalie glanced at Madonna. Why didn’t you bring Jasper?

He’s too little,Lance answered before Madonna could. When he’s older, we’ll tell him everything.”

Nathalie’s brows pinched just a little, but she stayed quiet.

Madonna rolled her eyes at her son. See? Nathalie doesn’t even want to talk to you, so why are you forcing it? Don’t you know when you’re not wanted?

Mom, did you forget what you promised me?Lance’s tone barely shifted.

I was about to bring it up,Madonna shot back, but you muscled in and now it’s just awkward.

Lance fell silent.

The air in the car turned chilly.

Nathalie paid their family drama no mind. She looked out the window, her heart as still as water.

Something was bound to happen today.

Maybe, once this day was over, she and Lance wouldn’t even need to wait for a court date. They could put an end to everything and just be done, get the divorce signed and sealed.

Honestly, she thought, that would be perfect.

The car pulled up at the Adams family estate. The mood was heavy. No one cracked a smile. Even the staff moved around quietly, as if the weight of the day pressed down on them all.

Chapter 321

Jasper, watched by the nanny, stood by the door, eyes shining as he

waited for them. The moment he saw them, he wriggled free of her arms

and dashed over.

Mommy! Lance!

Felice bent to scoop him up, planting a kiss on his soft cheek. Tears welled in her eyes and spilled out before she could stop them.
