Nathalie’s clear gaze turned glacial as she looked at him. “Are you really trying to scold me right now?”
“I…”
Daniel was angry, but a knot of complicated emotions twisted in his
chest.
This daughter was drifting further and further away from them. But to him, everything that had happened was already in the past.
Camilla could die at any moment. Facing a dying woman, couldn’t she at east offer a comforting lie?
At the very least, it would let Camilla pass away in peace, without any
egrets.
‘I know exactly what you’re thinking. Anyone can put on an act, but I refuse to,” Nathalie said, her tone unwavering. “I’ve endured more than enough misery in the past. From the time I was ten, you two stopped oving me. Since that’s the case, why should I play along with your little performance now?”
Camilla wept silently, her eyes brimming with agonizing sorrow. She never expected things to come to this.
Daniel’s face turned ugly. “We brought you into this world, and this is how you repay us?”
‘You didn’t bring me into this world.”
Nathalie directly pulled out the DNA test report. “You were always so blatantly biased. I started wondering if I was even your biological child, so i ran a DNA test. As it turns out, I’m not.”
Adelaide froze, looking at her in pure shock. “Nathalie?”
Nathalie’s expression softened as she met the older woman’s eyes. “I’m

sorry I didn’t tell you right away, Grandmother. But I figure it’s not too late to clear the air.”
She gently squeezed Adelaide’s hand. “Rather than letting them constantly use moral blackmail to force my hand, it’s better to tear it all down. I have no blood relation to them, which means they have no right to demand anything from me ever again.”
‘Impossible!”
Camilla was the first to react. Without even glancing at the report, she locked her frantic eyes on Nathalie. “I know you resent us, but you can’t ie to yourself like this! I gave birth to you! I counted the days until you arrived. My labor was agonizing. Even after more than twenty years, I remember every single detail!”
Nathalie met her hysterical gaze evenly. “If you don’t believe me, you’re free to take another test.”
Daniel snatched the documents from her hand. He studied them closely–the official seals were undeniably real.
So, Nathalie wasn’t their biological daughter?
His expression went blank. Then… where was their real daughter?
What happened to their actual child?
‘I strongly advise against trying to track down your biological child. What are you going to do? Bring her back so she can suffer through your Favoritism too?” Nathalie mocked, easily reading the realization dawning
on his face.
She was also certain now that they truly hadn’t known about the mix–up.
